Why buy Audi and not Skoda? This is not the correct comparison between Leica and Panasonic for so many reasons.
Audi uses the most advanced technology that reaches Skoda only after 3 years. Audi allows endless customization while Skoda is limited.
The issue with L vs. Pan is that they use the same technology and only differ in the visual design and user interaction. For some it’s great, for others it’s not enough.
I always wonder what group of people Laica targets. Rich people who think they know about photography but never actually go out and use a camera?

Speaking as a man who thought he'd do the sensible thing and buy a Panasonic S1Rii when it came out, but quickly regretted the decision and sold it to buy a Leica instead I'd say the main difference is the User Interface, but the user experience more generally. I hated the over-complicated menus on the Panasonic and the way it kept switching into video mode when I was trying to take stills, and dumping the pre-sets I had laboriously set up. The Leica menus are admirably logical and uncluttered, and will be familiar to users of modern Leica M cameras. A Leica also feels like a million dollars: a premium product instead of just another bit of mainstream 'stuff', which is why a Leica will hold its value in a way no Panasonic ever will. It's often said that the joy of photography comes in two parts – the end product: the image, of course, but also the experience,: the pleasure (or otherwise) of using the kit. Any Leica SL3 variant and any high-end Panasonic can produce great images, but if your budget can run to it a Leica will put a smile on your face like no Panasonic will. If money is tighter then Panasonics are great products.
The Sensor is a Sony/Panasonic joint collaboration, the software is Panasonic and the electrics and battery is Panasonic. The lenses Branded Leica are a Leica Panasonic JV with the glass the same. The lens architecture is more metal on the Leica lenses. So why pay $10,000 for a Leica when 999 times out of 1000 you would never tell the difference.
The SL3 P with the 50 Noct here in this video just looks beauuuutiful imo. I mean just the visual appearance of the setup. :)) Love it!
If you could have a 60mp camera, why would you choose 40mp? My ONLY complaint with my M10-R is that it doesn't have a 60mp sensor. Is it Leica's invidious plan to bring out a 60mp SL3-P in just a few years?

Yes, the Lumix S1R II with a 2x price increase is Leica's best camera. Or you could buy a used SL2 for stills and have money left for a used lens and choose between the Lumix S1 models for better video.
