You don't get constant free concierge service. You get it free for a year and then it's subscription. Plus you wouldn't use it to buy a t-shirt. They have connections in places such as restaurants where they're fully booked, but the service can get you a table. Similarly with sold out concerts, they can book your flights for you, you can ask them to source you rare items, art, all sorts and they'll do it all for you. It's a super rich persons phone….not something you'd download uber on.

When I was a resident one of the surgeons babysitting me had a vertu. We used to mock him a little bit for it, but he kind of put us in our place by showing off their one killer feature. The concierge. He simply pressed a button, talked to them for about 45 seconds and they got him flights to a course we were all attending, a rental car, a hotel, restaurant reservations, and arranged for his wife's anniversary gift to be at a store in the city we were traveling to so he could pick it up and have it with him when his wife picked up up at the airport.
Granted that guy had way more money than me, but for him, working 60 hours a week, having somebody that he could push a button on a phone to and tell them to make reservations or travel plans, or simply having them deal with calling up a restaurant and getting them to deliver lunch to him was worth it to him for the couple of hours it would save him each week.

I worked for their company, No NDA or NNN signed so I can say this. The company is headquarterd in Chengdu city of Sichuan Province of China (where I worked at the time of my stay there), and they have another small office in Beijing. The entire management and workforce are non-English speaking Chinese people with a handful of 4 foreigners in the whole company. And the only reason they hired foreigners is to make the company look international.
