After testing this thing for over a month, I can confirm this external fan DOES work. Takes my Xbox from 57 degrees celcius during Elden Ring to 38. It's certainly not nessesary in any normal situation, but that's like saying lights in a PC case are not nessesary and useless too. They still look nice and some of us like pretty acessories 😀 also those in warmer parts of the world and/or have overheating issues could benefit from this as it could help prevent thermal throttling. Thanks for encouraging me to test this one out properly though champions, as I can see other external fans available can be useless and why people would be so sceptical.
What was the rubber part for? And did your fan rib the housing of the fan. It does work when it's sideways. Up Doughty out rubs

I've tested a fan on mine, and it did cool it down more than just the fan that's inside. Chilled it down by about 12-15 degrees.
My room get hot so i would need this
Definitely better than the one I got now had to take the top cowl off if because it was trapping some heat but I hate having to cycle through the lights to turn the LEDs off

My Xbox series x has a major overheating issue. A few months ago the fan stopped working (it would try to spin but it would get half a turn then stop). So I took it apart cleaned it removed the fan so it wouldn’t restrict airflow the got one of those g story fans to go on top. That worked for a few months and now yesterday it started overheating so I opened it up again and cleaned it but it still overheats within a few minutes even with the fan on maximum speed and with a box fan blowing directly into the air intake. Any clue what could be the culprit?
I got one ,sounds like a jet engine when the temperature touches 35/40 degrees ,but is pretty good,only thing is when you turn up the fan manually just incase your box gets above 42 it makes no difference in temperature drop
Why would u put another fan on top of the other?
This product is pointless. The series x already has great thermal performance and is silent. This just makes it louder and does nothing to legitimately improve console performance. If your console is overheating I can assure you the solution is not as simple as slapping on this hunk of junk.
I don't know it's working great for me I love it . Keeps mine 85 degrees with my other fan in the bottom for hours on end

I bought this and it seemed to keep my console cool but with all the negative comments on the internet I might consider returning my external fan. I might’ve have made a big mistake. Hopefully my console still works fine.

People saying its useless, because the base fan already works fine, do note that the place you live in is NOT THE ONLY PLACE IN THE WORLD, THERE ARE OTHER PLACES THAT GET REALLY HOT
I can’t believe all the people in the comments that have never tried this fan and think they know everything. I’ve had this fan for over a year and it has saved my series x. This fan does not blow back in, it is far more powerful than the one in the Xbox and only aids in the cooling process. The lights just let you know what speed it’s running at. I wouldn’t suggest running on auto though, just turn to manual and it works perfectly. I found mine on Amazon and compared it to the other fans I could find there and this outperformed all the rest. Stop all the hate people.
I don’t understand this at all. Why do we need two exhaust fans stacked on top of each other? Defeats the purpose.
If anything, you would want to add to the intake side with a fan at a lower RPM than the exhaust.

Kinda sad that Xbox Series X runs so hot that cooling attachments like this are all over Amazon and selling well. I get the feeling that it’s true what some experts were saying about this console having a poor design. It looks like it sucks up a lot of dust from the air intake on the bottom of the console, and eventually clogs the inside of the console instead of pushing out all the dust out of the exhaust on top. And also, the holes on top of the console are so exposed, that unless you’re covering your console when not in use, those holes can also get clogged up with dust quickly.
