He argues Trump looks weak, is obsessed with the Supreme Court and Chief Justice John Roberts as a kind of “daddy” figure who enables him, and is focused on everything except affordability, even as tariffs, war, and other policies hurt states and voters. Acosta says Trump’s second term has been a “spectacular failure,” with harmful effects from DOGE, incompetent cabinet members, ICE abuses, detention centers, and other crises, and he warns that Trump may try court challenges after the votes are counted, making the midterms feel like a high-stakes fight for democracy.

Technicians can verify that in order to guarantee fixing something, watching what happens when it breaks can be vital to the solution. Maybe Trump will break everything from all angles so that a complete repair will become stronger than if all had just coasted along unchanged the whole time. This SCOTUS level of corruption and fealty to this convicted felon in the White House is why we need the next Democratic president to erase their power by nominating 4 new justices who can correct these insane judgments. The big plus to such a move would be that it would erase Trump's legacy with his picks (that committed perjury) that apply laws to favor him.

Trump likes having the military presence in Washington because suppresses the idea of having large demonstrations in Washington. Heating oil isn;t waiting for winter. People in the heating oil areas are already being sold the contracts for their heating oil supplies. You have to make a deal months in advance – if you want any kind of savings – and then schedule a truck (which runs on diesel…) to show up months/weeks in advance of needing the oil. It's not like natural gas/electricity which you simply get on-deamnd by adjusting your thermostat.
