  1. The reason that culturally people think that eating fat makes you fat is that the sugar industry spent untold millions of dollars in ad campaigns to make people ignore processed sugar.

  2. Also the big thing about "Mediterranean diet" is that if you are actually from there. Diet, sun exposure, wind, temperature, bugs, greenery.. . . .. it all contributes to you as a animal who lives in this ecosystem. Malaysian or Eskimos hans 0 value from it, in fact, it goes into negatives. The best diet, it the one which is as simple as possible, its that follows your ecosystem, which you are a part of also. Humans arent exempt from life.

  3. Oh i get it. Calorie restriction is a bad way to diet. One of the worst way actually. You have to eat until you are full and satisfied. Eating a Blue Zones or WFPB diet, its very easy to lose weight. You can basically eat whatever you want in whichever quantities and you will have great health. Dont starve yourself on a diet. Thats bad. Really bad.

  4. It's weird to me to call this a diet to "follow", though. These are some great meals and a large portion of what I eat but I'm not trying to "stick to" something

  5. im portuguese, our cuisine is wonderfull and tasty and surprisingly it tastes good even though we use very little to no spices, basicly salt, olive oil and one or two herbs is what youd find in most dishes, but also, the quality of the produce is soo good that using too many spices is actually masking the true flavour of the ingredients. I think most people havent truly tasted a nice grilled fish or meat just with a pinch of sal, a salad just with vinegar and olive oil, we do have complex dishes but the simple ones i believe are the tastiest and the most healthy

  6. Okay, I just opened a new tab about this (Mayo Clinic article) so my neurospicy brain won't forget to take notes about this. Gotta increase my efforts to get the diabetes under better control!
Looking at the food wheel 11:04 I love most of this stuff! (Okay, I just love to eat!) And I love to make chummus!

  7. The mediterranea 'diet' is not a diet but a lifestyle.
Fresh ingredients, freshly prepared. No fast food, other than an occasional freshly prepared pizza.
It's about a love of simple ingredients that combined are a delight. It's also about friends and family around the table.
