Toro zero turn won’t start?😫

If you ran your Toro out of fuel, or it has been sitting for a while, you’ll probably need to do this …
⭐Another tip is, if your battery is weak, start cranking with the choke OFF, and after the engine has begun turning over, then pull the choke while continuing to crank. A closed choke puts a greater strain on the battery and starter and will sometimes prevent the engine from turning over.

  1. If you leave air in filter, it will gradually fill itself, indicating time to change.

As the part that is in gas gets dirty, fuel will climb.

The obvious part is the 'out' end of filter needs to be lower than the 'in' end.

  2. To Tommy
It wouldn't let me comment I'm trying it here

–yes but it was helpful to knowledge for future – the issue I was having ended up being proper positioning of the handlebars

  3. poor design for a gravity fed system. could the fuel line be relocated permanently to prevent this? it looks like there might be room to do this.

  4. I’ve had this issue even after it sitting a week. Between the issues I’ve had with the slipping blades, shredding belts and this non-start issue I wish I would have went with another brand.

  5. I can run my John Deere dry, put in some gas, crank for 10 seconds with full choke, and she’ll fire right up.
I didn’t use her for the last two years while she sat on the patio in the Jersey weather. Needed to start using her two weeks ago, put in a new battery, checked the oil, and fired her up (with the old gas / no Sta-Bil). She never let’s me down.

  6. I usually pull the spark plug. Then I open the gas cap and I farted it. That’s all and gas to it. Plus it’s good pressure. Then I have a cigarette and shove it down into where the spark plug goes. Make sure it’s lit. Then I crank it over, works every time.

  7. make sure gas cap is off when you do that so a vacuum is not created to keep fuel from going to filter. dies not need all the air out of fuel filter you need to have fuel filter inlet lower than out outlet to aid in getting fuel into filter

  8. Just choke it for crying out loud. And if for some reason that doesn't work take the air breather off and put your hand over the carburetor opening and wallop it'll suck that fuel right up in there
