Tub shower valve installation tips…I always make the blocking plumb so that the valve remains plumb and the copper tub spout is level. The screws on the mounting bracket sometimes get loose, so I tighten those. The final step is to ensure the finished wall tile is flush with the plaster guard 👍🏽🔥#tile #tileshower #bathroomremodel #homerenovation

does boack plastic gaurd stay in wall
First thing, don't use delta shower valve. The mounting bracket sucks.
Don't forget to ground the thing. Too much plumbing is not grounded.
Blocking may be opposite not fit and inputs
4 inches off the top of the tub for the spout 16 inches for the body is our typical rough
How do you determine how deep it should be.
Mine didn’t come with a plaster guard.
What does "plumb" mean?
How would one do this without the wall being open on the shower side?(access from behind)
I’ve never seen a plumber do that!
I don't know but this doesn't look right
When I strip out my screws I always use Milwaukee
You forgot the mortar.
Plumbing is so easy
The finished tile doesn’t have to be flush with the plaster guard/ plaster ground. It has to fall within the thickness of it. That’s the tolerance for the many finished wall treatments. Gives us room to work with. Aim for somewhere in the middle of that plaster guard/ plaster ground so that the handle doesn’t stick out too much.
Plumb on vertical blocking,
You can be anywhere in the “tile guard” I always setup to be in the middle
Needs to be higher
I would dry fit the trim, you may not like how far the handle sticks out, those Delta valves are designed to be mounted on a 2×4 ledger in a 2×4 wall, 2 3/4" to the plaster guard, I set mine back 3/8" deeper so it sits at
Perfect, valve depth so important! 👍
