Overseeding is one of the simplest things you can do to get a thicker lawn, and it doesn’t require tearing anything up. Scotts® Turf Builder helps fill in the thin and bare spots in your existing lawn by establishing new grass alongside what’s already there. Fall is usually the best time for cool-season grasses — here’s how to do it right.
Turn weak, thin grass into a thick, green lawn with Scotts® Turf Builder® Thick’R Lawn Sun & Shade. This awesome 3-in-1 blend contains soil improver for greater root development, seed to fill gaps with new grass, and lawn food to make existing grass thicker and greener.

I purchased the Turf builder Thick R Lawn because I have lots of dead patches of grass. I dethatched, aerated and put down Scott's Winterguard last fall. What grass I have is nice and green, however it looks like the weather will not be in the 60 degree temperature range until April. Can I put down Scott's Turb Builder Halts and Crabgrass preventer with lawn food (your app recommends this product) this week before I add the Thicker Lawn Grass Seed?
Greg needs to pick his poison. A brain-dead puppet – Kamaltoe or Trump! Those are your choices! CHOOSE!
Is it ok to aeriate and then use this product on a lawn ??
I see you Cuzzo!
Can I reduce the spreader settings to a half-rate (4.5 instead of 9 for broadcast spreader) and put down horizontally and vertically?
No top dressing? And this is good for fixing bare spots and over seeding the whole lawn?
Hello. Do I need to use Scott’s starter fertilizer with this seed? Thanks!
Scott's products have always worked for us! We want to achieve a more plush yard should I use this instead of the the turf builder lawn food?
Can I mix this with Scott’s turf builder triple action and spread it out
Down in the SE. How do I get rid of a ton of tramp grass?
Can I use this after putting down the triple action? Or should I only choose one or the other?
How many pounds should use ?
What is the fertilizer ratio?
Is there a expiration date on this product. I found this Thick'er Lawn at Costco recently and it's NOT spring or fall. So I would like to store it until fall.
I'm at the 30 day timeframe and I can say Thickr definitely works as advertised and I'm satisfied. I have 0.6 acre maintainable lawn of my 3 acres, and my lawn pieces have never looked as good as they do this late spring. In addition to immediate green up, I have seedlings coming up just about everywhere in gap areas in the lawn, when looking closely.
Just understand that you will need to prep and get the thatch out for success. I did 2 back to back detachings, did the Thickr app immediately before gentle rain for 2-3 days, and a third detach about three weeks after the product was down (not recommended after putting down product as you might remove seed) since I let the existing lawn grow to 5-6 inches before cutting. Watering is key above all (just review the YouTube gurus)…luckily Scott's seeds seem pretty resilient if you rely only on rain fall…it eventually comes in as long as there is good seed soil contact and no wash away. Also, don't be afraid to put down some additional seed..that's all i regret not doing with this application.
I need a seed with no weed in it
What happens if you apply the product and it rains a lot the next day? Will it damage my lawn?
Dont do it
Scotts is terrible grass seed
Money makers….but not grass people
Scotts should be ashamed of the poor qaulty shit they sale
Scotts is the worst
