Dramatic footage obtained by Scripps News shows the aftermath of a fighter jet crash in Washington state and the pilot who ejected moments before impact.
The pilot parachuted to safety after ejecting from the F/A-18 Hornet, striking a ridge of trees on the way down. In body camera footage from the aftermath, the pilot appears to have blood and dirt on his face as he speaks with first responders.

God just post the goddarned bodycam video without any of this useless voiceover and whatnot, its ridiculous how much of our time is just wasted with unimportant or irrelevant filler. overly dramatic tension music for a guy calmly talking to police about the incident as you say such insightful gems as "the pilot appears to have a bloody face" as if we can't see the blood and gash with our own eyes.

The lake they were flying over, Rimrock Lake has some of the highest known concentrations of Bald Eagles per square mile in the PNW and is very well known amongst bird spotters as a mecca for sighting Eagles.. I'd like to add that this incident also occurred during fledging season. I reckon the aircraft ingested a bald eagle (or mulitple), disabling both hydraulic systems which led to the lawn darting of said jet.

My dad worked on electrical panels and all those planes for 30 years add Kelly Air Force Base and he died due to chemical exposure with leukemia…. He said he double and triple checked his work because every time he worked on a plane that was someone's life in his hands. He wanted to make sure every job he did never cause anybody harm.
How does this year's accidents compare to past years?
