Somewhere in the middle of North Atlantic on the night of Halloween 1943 the American destroyer USS Borie was in a determined search for German U-boats in rough seas. The German U-boat U-405 was patrolling in the area. During her two year career never she had never lost a single man on combat patrols but at 2 AM November 1st USS Borie acquired radar contact. It was the start of an epic battle where there could be only one winner.

The U-boat used 88mm artillery and 20mm machine guns instead of torpedoes? And the destroyer decided ramming was the best course of action while its main guns and torpedoes were still available, and the U-boat was already damaged?
