It’s February 9, 1945. The war is nearing its end, but the Axis have not surrendered yet and they still have a few aces up their sleeves. German U-boat commander Korvettenkapitän Ralf-Reimar Wolfram is tasked with delivering secret cargo to their Japanese allies. In the waters of the North Sea, his U-864 is stalked by the British submarine HMS Venturer. Its commander, young Lieutenant James Launders, is about to pull off a maneuver no one had done before, or has done since.

  3. I just can’t believe the captains of these u boats were able to calculate and time this sort of stuff. It’s insanely impressive to me, especially considering they didn’t have the same amount of modern radar technology and stuff that I assume modern u boats have more of. It must have been unbelievably scary to go through something like this. You just pray you make it out alive of the situation

  5. Another interesting story is German submarine U-869 which was the mystery U-Boat discovered off the coast of NJ by John Chatterton and his crew and featured in the book “ Shadow Divers”

  6. This one is easily a new favorite bit in history. The fact that the HMS Venturer did not celebrate the win, despite being the very first in history, shows how much respect and honor sailors conduct themselves with. Teeny tiny question tho… Where's the blue cat? I have looking hard to find the adorable bundle of pixels.

  8. It's really a very fascinating historical video! 👏🔥 The way you tell the story of the Nazi submarine and the secret buried behind makes me watch from beginning to end without feeling bored. I especially like the way the video combines historical facts, illustrations and mysterious storytelling. 🎬⚓️

Little-known historical stories like this are the reason why I love the documentary genre. Not only entertaining but also makes viewers want to learn more about events that seem to have been forgotten by time. 📜🔍

Great job! Looking forward to seeing more stories like this! 👏❤️
