Gen Z is lazy. Gen Z is entitled. Gen Z has no work ethic. Gen Z is impossible to manage.
We hear this constantly. But there’s one pretty massive problem: **employers have been saying almost the exact same thing about young workers for decades.**
Before Gen Z, Millennials were the lazy, entitled generation destroying the workplace. Before Millennials, Gen X was literally branded the “slacker generation.” And somehow every 15 years, a new generation enters the workforce and becomes responsible for everything wrong with work.
In this video, I break down why that narrative is incredibly convenient for companies.
Because if turnover becomes “Gen Z has no loyalty,” low morale becomes “Gen Z lacks motivation,” distrust becomes “Gen Z is cynical,” and bad management becomes “Gen Z is difficult to manage,” companies never have to ask a much more uncomfortable question:
**What if something about the workplace is actually causing these reactions?**
And it gets even better for business when Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Boomers start fighting each other over who worked harder, who had it worse, and which generation is the most entitled.
Workers blame workers. Generations blame generations. Everybody argues.
And the company quietly walks out the back door.
This video looks at Gen Z in the workplace, generational stereotypes, hiring managers, employee disengagement, job hopping, corporate culture, layoffs, management, work ethic, Millennials, Gen X, Baby Boomers, and why young workers repeatedly become the scapegoat for much larger workplace problems.
Because eventually Gen Alpha will enter the workforce, Gen Z will become the managers, and we’ll probably start this entire stupid conversation all over again.
So is Gen Z actually the problem — or are we watching the same workplace narrative get recycled for another generation?
Let me know what you think below.

It happened with millenials, happening now with Gen Z and then will happen with Gen Alpha….
I find it funny that boomers are the loudest to complain about ageism, and the most boastful of their hatred for the young.
not really… I started to complain about them 4 years ago as I had a team of 6 with Gen Z… it was terrible and impossible to work with them. They are lazy, they are dumb, they are constantly lying, they have zero skills but all totally no ambition to even learn a skills. Gen Z's are terrible and they'll only do the bare bare bare minimum and only if they can do it with AI. And then they actually believe nobody sees that they're lying about everything. The main problem for Gen Z is that 4 years ago, it where young kids and a lot was forgiven when they pulled that crap. Now they 're nearing 30 in a few years and they girls aren't cute anymore, the boys aren't playfull. Now they have to act like adults and it's just not happening and it's angering gen Z that their lies don't work anymore. That the lack of respect for anybody has come back like a boomerang. And that hate is also the reason they'll never be able to change. After that, the boomers and millenials they hate who are their parents and grand parents are fed up and stop handing out money to them like it's candy as they see that never in their lives, their kids would ever help them out if needed and that they need to take care of their own. And like that gen Z has isolated themselves in such a way that the're not really part of society anymore. They're more then just a lost generation, they're not counted anymore. And if gen A will be the same or worse, they will both create a terrible future for themselves that will make their lives terrible.
Is the AI slop thumbnail really necessary?
Employers hate all human workers
The generational narrative is just a class warfare divide and conquer psyop by mainstream media against working people. There is simply no meat on the bone of this economy anymore regardless of age, gender or color.
say what you wish but man its really hard to work with them… lack of commitment, lazy demeanor, uninterested, etc etc
This might be one of your best videos. Great content!
You understand sooooo many things when you come to the conclusion that everythins is a PSYOP
Gen Z is the Millennials of the Gen X.
Nobody ever wanted to work 8×5. Why would you?
Working hard for someone else for nothing is just stupid.
Currently 54. Got laid off in 1994. Been cynical about employers since. Current employer has a requirement to earn an ai certification. Some of those younger millennial/zoomer employees jumped on it with people around my age. I procrastinate for a while and glad I did since the cert test was redone to be ‘easier’. One zoomer aged employee that took the original cert was still laid off last week. This kid was bright and tuned in. He just wouldn’t fold back his opinions from upper management. I think he has an entrepreneurial spirit and will grow his own business.
That said, unskilled workers under 40 definitely need to stop being creeps and lock up the smartphones when working.
Ever thought of talking about the bleedin' obvious?
Or, maybe the know how their GenX-parents got cheated their whole life by empty promises from Companies.
I found out recently that later aged Millennials are caught in the crossfire as many of them graduated around covid era and are treated as Gen Z applicants. Its sad to know there are people in their early 30s caught in the GenZ bubble just because they wanted to change careers or started college later.
is that Christian Slater narrating in one of those older videos?
I don't know as a millennial we Believe Wall Street that took our future.
they want us to track every minute of our day at work and tell us we need to have 90% utilization and also document every non work related activily and conversation. it's ridiculous, we spend more time worrying about documenting our time than doing a good job
gen x is 'difficult'? i think the boomers make this sh!+ up to keep all the money.
NOBODY is going to complain about gen alpha's work ethic. Because NOBODY will be working by then much less still be around. You didn't know? "There's a major population collapse coming" Accoding to ONE OF Elon's baby momma. Along with others.
I'm a millennial and I fully support genZ.
These boomers or genX who can't even sort a column in Excel, always had a far easier job market and lower inflation, while enjoying management positions are the real entitled generations.
The same thing happens for laundry detergent ads; they often show the previous generation of product didn't get your clothes clean even though when previous generation product was being advertised it was far superior the what it was replacing… These things run on people not remembering yesteryear.
So just using ai all over the place now, do you use AI in your résumé help business too?
Gen X, nuclear technician here. I got a contract job coming up where I'm almost 50 years old and I'm considered the younger one on the crew. Obviously it's a problem, but a problem that's been in the making for years now. That means we are missing half of millennials and half of gen Z. I don't blame the generations, I blame the lack of direction from management. We have literally three generations of workers that have not been utilized. The kicker is that no one is getting replaced, yet all these companies are acting like everyone is replaceable.
Boomers were "flower power", "make love, not war", long hair, strage outfits, questionable hygene, heavy use of drugs (incl. LSD) etc. And the preachers of today!
(written by Gen.X)
It's actually big business online for people to pander to Gen z and coddle their faults
Ah the boomers blaming everybody not acknowledging they were thenproblem all along
Goes to show the USA has been dead since the 1900s and growth was actually momentum.
Same old stick.
They said the same about Gen X.
Gen Z are knocking on 30, if they think Gen Z is bad they should just wait for Gen Alpha
I'll never hate genz but I'll always hate management.
Yeah, no body wants to work. We want to live off the land. Wtf is this life? Making scraps while CEOs become million and billionaires?
Its always others fault, never their own
If hard work results in success, the mule will own the farm.
I'm one of those employers and I don't hate Gen Z. I see a generation that is trying their ass off after having to learn from a generation of filtered reality. Any Gen Z I encounter as a Gen X I try to help or teach. They are different from Gen Why? who told us to Eff off. They actually listen and can understand when shit makes sense. Help them. They will get it. Maybe a few will say Eff You but many will get it and those are good odds. Gen Z is hungry for knowledge unlike the folks before them that had to reverse engineer basic facts just to get through the day "their" way.
Translation: there's not enough H1-bs and illegals to fill our workload. We'd rather complain about it that spend more.
I’m saving this video, this is by far your best, meta thinking of videos! 🧠
👏 👏 👏
Simon Sinek said the same crap about Millennials
Every new generation gets blamed
