Why India Won’t Break Up With Russia

India has spent decades balancing its ties to Russia, and the USSR before it, with those to the US. Today, Russia remains a major supplier of oil and weapons to India, just as India builds deeper economic and strategic ties with the US.

And while India and Russia have changed over time, their relationship remains strong. Even amid the Kremlin’s war on Ukraine and intense pressure from Washington, New Delhi won’t let Moscow go. So why does India keep Russia so close, and can it keep up this balancing act?

  1. Russia is an all – weather partner who has stood the test of time and supported the India of the past to become an Emerging Power of the future!

Russia isn't just an ally but a guardian and family that believed and helped us achieve our ambitions — Nuclear Power, Space, Missiles, etc.

  2. USA (Political Class) is betraying neighbouring friends closest to it in Canada and Mexico. No need to look so far away from your shores. India/US relationship is transactional and lucky it is that way. Don't forget it's ally Pakistan and 9/11 whose mastermind was living under protection of their ally. Multiple Bombings across middle east, kidnapping and execution of leaders in the name of democracy. World is Watching!

  3. Not one mention abt US Pak relations from the CENTO and later as Major Non Nato ally 😂
US has always cared for its own interests and they wanted better relations with PAK,NOT INDIA ,to defeat Soviets in Afg and get a CIA base at Peshawar to monitor them ,during the Cold War.

  4. Today's America is bitterly fighting with their own long term allies like Canada and Europe, after seeing this, why would anyone want to break their bridges for an un-reliable friend. I think we are heading for an Asian century back again, by 2047 India will be the second/third largest economy. Remember, India has been the greatest economy for centuries.

  5. 🛑Don't even think about India breaking its ties with long trusted partner and friend Russia.
America decided its partner in Pakistan way back, be happy with your decision.
We can just be partners with America nothing more.

  6. if russia started a war with ukrain, why should india break its ties with russia?

first, you nato countries brought it onto yourselves.
second, US invaded many countries and operates coups in other countries, by bloomberg logic, all ally nations of US should be breaking ties with US. Did they? Hm, doesn't that make you hypocrites.
third, the west is bunch of hypocrites and a laughing stock. Its ok if the europe is buying russion gas, but its not ok if india buys russian oil.
fourth, US is not a reliable ally. It didnt support India in the past and wont support in future.
fifth, you ASK and request india. you cannot demand india how to conduct its affairs.

you keep playing your narrative game. nothings gonna change on ground.

  7. Answer is simple :- Russia is a trustworthy partner of india. .. ever yet ..
    It's a time tested friendship..
It's not only a profit based relationship like
    U S.A

  8. If Russia is sanctioned for its war with Ukraine, then why isn't the US sanctioned for its war with Iran or kidnapping the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro? Even hypocrisy has its limits but not the West.

  9. It is better to do business than openly stealing resources of a sovereign nation , that is Venezuela. US should be ashamed pointing fingers at India profiteering from doing business with Russia.

  10. so USA can do business with any country ,, doesn't matter its russiya or terrist factory paksitan ,,, but india shouldn't?? and look like china word not exist in your dictionary.

  11. Before asking “Why won’t India break up with Russia?”, Western media should ask a more common-sense question: Why should India break up with Russia? India’s foreign policy is not a loyalty test for the West it is driven by India’s own national interests.

  12. bloomberg propaganda says full scale russian invasion of ukraine but the US israeli war on iran.
okay now tell us viewers why the rest this propaganda outlet says should be taken seriously? 🙄🤔

  13. NO ONE TRUSTS USA. why dont u talk about what usa did in venenzuela and then put up their own puppet in venenzuela now. USA sides with pakistan too, they funds terrorist organization against india, imposes heavy random tariffs on india and has also betrayed india in past. INDIA will be the next big thing and is already among the strongest nations, will always side with russia and also build relations with china.
