For decades, NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has helped astronomers measure how fast the universe is expanding. But as those measurements have become more precise, scientists have uncovered a cosmic mystery: the universe appears to be expanding at different rates depending on how we measure it.
Known as the Hubble tension, this discrepancy challenges our understanding of the cosmos and could point toward something missing from our current model of the universe.
In this video, NASA scientists Jennifer Wiseman and Julie McEnery explore how Hubble helped transform our understanding of cosmic expansion, the mysterious role of dark energy, and how NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will help investigate some of the biggest unanswered questions in cosmology.

We are but a speck of rust on a rotting Camaro in a larger universe.
I'd say my theory is as good of a guess as yours. Go ahead and try to prove me wrong!
13000 спутников, а нормальную трансляцию с МКС хотя бы на 8к разрешении организовать не можете.
What if.. and bear with me
God knew WAY before you even put Hubble up, to have that mod on the light data
Because we are that predictable..
I must confess, I'm rather grateful for this video You have put together, as the collection of MAD CHATTERS was sublimely entertaining! Good Luck with Your Mission(s)! Do good work, Nancy is watching! ♾
ROUGH ESTIMATE still applies… "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades".
At the heart of uncertainty lies a misinterpretation of the Origin Event. More accuracy shall be oncoming with the combination of Quantum Computational Analyses performed by A.I., removing human shortcomings from the theoretical declarative loop… The BIGGUS BANGICUS is being lost in translation…
To paraphrase Colonel Kurtz, "the HUMOUR, the HUMOUR…" ♾
Yes all IDIOTS at work we know, again nobody knows and you won't ever know, more like everyone is just guessing what they think it is, but you really don't know?!🙄 Also the big bang theory is a joke!😒
There's a knowledge barrier that will never be overcome.
Expansion, from where? From us? From what perspective of the universe? From the spiral arm of the galaxy shaped universe we reside in? We don't even know the shape. Why shouldn't it be a spiral just like a galaxy? Also, red shift from where? From us. What makes fools think we are the center? Three objects moving the same direction can have different shift because of different speeds.
Cool video. Jennifer and Julie are excellent presenters. I would welcome hearing more from them.
You may half to face that the paradox of existence causes the expansion of the universe but also the expansion of creation, a quantum leek into the future as creation slowly expands into the past. That paradox would also allow God or computation to exist after creation to quantum leek causing creation, and since quantum computation can exceed all existence God is then a real possibility. Science should have the ability to prove God does not exist with ease yet it has not, measure it again.
Awful Video. DEI ruins everything.
The Hubble tension is what makes this so compelling: as measurements get more precise, the disagreement between early-universe and late-universe expansion rates has not gone away. If Roman's large supernova sample confirms the gap, does that point more to a missing piece in expansion history than to any single calibration error?
it doesnt have to conserve energy in an open system like an infiite spatial vacuum or it could be conserved as a 4d nucleus.
This is so exciting! 🤩
Science is so beautiful! And all the way of its honesty and trying to figure out more about the universe. Humanly was once in a very dark room and just started to illuminate the room with a lit candle.
Lovely to see all the experts here in the comments who claim to know better.
Like a water droplet on A Spacetime Pond right
It's a reverse Shockwave wake that went out came back and then went back out again and that's why speeding up and why it slowed down in the first place
Curiosity is a beautiful quality that enhances our existence. Love the quest for knowledge!
We’re are the Aliens? I’m not being funny but if jwt can see back 13 billion years and still no planets with intelligent life so as far back as 15 billion years there’s nothing exept us 😢on the small 🔵 Dot 😢😢😢
Your bias, thinking you know all the ways photons can lose or gain energy on a long journey, is clearly wrong xD Bayesians wear blinders.
The Roman telescope is the most exciting new thing in years!! 😄😄
Beautiful Universe
DARK MATTER + DARK ENERGY = nothing but SPACETIME fabric 🤷♀️
Search for the Spacetime particle & not the mythical dark matter particle 😒
Cosmologists aren't even sure the Big Bang actually occurred, instead they think there may have been a "Big Bounce." Our ideas of what the Universe is and how it behaves are undoubtably way off as we just begin to investigate it from our limited perspective.
Have to say NASA is my favorite organization/company/project (pick one). I am still in the mud about this expansion business. Are the quantum fields expanding, or the products of the quantum fields, or the nothingness as matter flies away? Hopefully, answers are being stitched up.
There will ALWAYS be some thing new to learn!
Dear NASA,
As a technological organization, I wanted to share information about “Ethics in technology”.
We all depend on batteries.
I wanted to mention the world’s first “fair trade” batteries.
“Fair Trade” certifications mean that the object is ethical. You can get “fair trade” food and “fair trade” clothes.
And so the first ever “fair trade” battery can be found on the Fairphone.
Also, Fairphone features the world’s first “conflict-free” solder. (Violence was not involved in the process of gathering the minerals to produce the solder.)
Fairphone also founded “The Fair Cobalt Alliance”. To improve working conditions and ethics for the way materials for electronics are sourced.
The final detail deserves a “Bad News Warning”.
“Bad News Warning”
So ultimately these “Fair Trade” efforts want to put an end to child labor. So that future electronics have no involvement of child labor in any stage of their creation.
In third world countries, people mine in the earth, underground, to extract the raw materials for to make the electronics and batteries.
Please do the right thing, and try to make the world a better place! Please look into “Fair Trade” options and help humanity recover and be more healthy.
Thank you very much.
A couple ways to figure out all this stuff:
In my opinion, spirituality helps.
1.) holotropic breathwork, as a way to access real spirituality
2.) “The Tao Te Ching” spiritual classic book
All these phenomena can be explained in spiritual frameworks 👍
I think the answer lies in the cosmic web/cosmic filaments themselves growing due to the energy they receive from spinning connected galaxies. When it grows in length it would make it look like the galaxies connected to it are moving away from one another. But that's just what I tHiNk.
Also the universe is expanding in an empty space or the space having some dark matter, and we don't have any idea about it 😅,, also there maybe many bubble universes of different ages( maybe multiverse 🤔).
By the way I have a question that there is any other more energetic event than GRB ??
This is a poor effort of science-tainment. Unorganized, unfocused, with images shown that have little context with the conversation going on in the background.
Was the producer replaced with an AI agent? It seems so because this effort is devoid of inspiration, creativity and organization. Shame!
Remember to carry the 1.
What we ignore will always be greater than what we "know".
what about the files? need to be release it
Are you gonna release the 2027 Moon Phase data by November or December?
