Pretty sure the bobs and matching outfits is a reference to The Stepford Wives (probably 1975 but I think there's been remakes since then). I might be forgetting some details but it's a movie based off a book written in 1972 which was around the same time as the feminist movement in America and women being able to get jobs. In the story there is a group of wives who are career women and better at their jobs than the men, which makes the men feel inferior. The men end up replacing their wives with robots that will conform to the man's ideal picture of a wife. All the robot women dress and act the same and I think there was a thing about one of the wives preferring short hair (symbolism of a working woman) but when replaced with a robot, the robot has long hair (long hair representing traditional beauty standards and women not having a choice in even their bodies).

I don't wanna wife could be them rejecting the social role of wife and being a wife altogether but i would point out they said but I don't wanna wife not but I don't wanna be a wife like you imply.
As a male listener it's clear they're about female empowerment but not clear if it's resentment of men entirely, I hope not I love the girls. So perhaps the songs meaning is saying what they offer and how good they would treat you but you as the man and husband want to be treated as a husband but I don't wanna wife points out how husband's don't return the appreciation and respect to their wife.
