I am fully expecting Genosha to play a role at some point, because the universal inhibitor, is basically a chekhov's gun for fans of the 90’s X-Men cartoon and fans of the comics. Yes they used it in Brand New Day, however this doesn’t strike me as the kind of detail that will only come up once or be important to the plot only once.
Charlie was warfare a solid movie or was it a psy-op about a war we should have never been apart of… leading to the death of one million innocent Iraqi's? You know war machine doing terrible things and then Hollywood making a movie about it 20 years later about how those acts made American soldiers sad.

Total bonkers theory:
If marvel feels the need to really flesh out the origin of mutants in the MCU, they should tie it to Eternals. When Tiamut began to rise from the crust, that causes dormant X genes in humanity to activate. And then slowly, as mutants experience puberty or trauma, their powers develop as well. That would fit the timeline the best so as to not pigeonhole a “Professor X was just masking the entire mutant population this entire time!” Explanation.
