X: Fake?! What are you talking about?!
(There is a bright flash, and a perfect "duplicate" of Zero appears, turning out to be his original body.)

Dr. Weil: Hehehehe… Indeed! Those Resistance losers just decided to call the Reploid they found here "Zero" for some reason… X, your real friends has been waiting for you!
(Scene fades back to the Area of Zero.)

Imagine this, for this hack in Zero 3 X has been around still while Zero shut himself off after his original body was stolen and in a replacement body too. Maybe instead of his body shut down from that machine, he used his copy body to seal the Dark Elf instead of X. Once it was destroyed the body/seal, Zero didn't cared anyhow since his original body is gone and he is already a Cyber Elf while X continues on instead going solo while Axl, Alia, and everyone else is either missing or retired too

I actually downloaded this mod and enjoy it… even though it's in Japanese. It's certainly an interesting look at what could have happened if it was X that was sealed away during the Elf Wars and Zero took over Neo Arcadia and then sealed the Dark Elf instead.
Now if only this was in English so I knew what this modded version was saying.
