xTool has quietly released a new ACS feature for its F Series lasers, bringing automatic focusing, material detection and design positioning into xTool Studio.
In this video, I test it with both xTool and third-party materials to see how well it actually works. I’ll also share a little secret about an even more advanced feature that could be coming to the F Series soon… 👀

What do you think of this new ACS feature?
Would you actually use something like this in your workflow? And what do you think about the little secret I shared towards the end of the video?
Great video! Thank you. I do have a couple of questions. 1) prior to hitting PROCESS are you able to resize the design or shift it? 2) If you placed the patch at an angle, would the software adjust your image to the angle of the patch? Can't type any more – have to go make something with this BRILLIANT update. Thank you for sharing this.
Why not on f1 ultra?
Another great video Chris – would it adjust your image if it were slightly too large for the material? 🙂
Thank you for making this video. I can't wait to try this feature.
Pretty disappointed that it is incompatible with the F1 ultra.
Does it work with F2 Ultra – on coins ?
Great Feature, but seriously: the bamboo circle isn’t „almost spot-on“, it’s FAAAAR off!
And that was actually visible already in the software.
Thanks for the great video, question. Does ACS work at all with the inner engraving lens on the UV (my thought being probably not) but just wondering if you have tested?
Why is the title claiming F Series, but you are saying it does not work with F1. That is an F, is it not F Series? Misguiding.
Very nice feature
To make sure I'm understanding this correctly: If you have an xtool material with the new QR code, it'll select that material then center the design and assign laser settings. If you don't have an xtool material or just don't have the new qr code, it will center the design only and the rest is still up to the user to fill in.
I want them to announce a F3 Ultra with 100+ watt fiber and 10w UV…
doesnt show up on my f1 ultra
Does this work with paint on glass with f2 just wondering would make my life so easier instead of getting right settings or trying get right settings
Love all your laser engraving content! We supply tumblers designed for laser engraving and offer free samples.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to talk about potential collaborations.
will this work with f1 lite?
grazie per questa unformazione, domani guardi sulle impostazioni e attivo questa funzuione che da come ho visto è utilissima,,,, e sempre un piacere guardare i tuoi video ce sempre da imparare.GRAZIE👍👍👍👍👍👍💪
Love the stuff you put out. your videos are clear and concise. I want you to show some of the buttons when you're clicking on them. I want to see you explain the trace feature.
Now, will it align it if the item has a skew to it? If it can do that, then no need for jigs! That would certainly speed things up switching between jobs.
Looks great. Will try it tomorrow. Next one they need to do is automate mapping for curved glasses on the rotary maybe using a piece of tape to reflect the light?
Saw this in the xTool update release notes but had no idea how to activate the auto mode. Thank you for showing this! This will be very helpful. Will need to play with it to get it perfected before the busy season starts.
Doesn’t seem to work with my f2 ultra uv I’ve been using 1.8.14 for about a week but can’t get it to work
I updated and it works sort of,I cant seem to get it to center, any advice?
Description of video is misleading – doesn't work with all F series, not even F1 ultra – only F2 lasers it seems
XTool must improve the camera with „offset Objects“. I do not understand, why it is not possible to calculate the picture correctly because the object height is known.
Have I missed something – couldn't Xtool (or someone else) provide a set of qrcodes which describe the material as close as possible e.g. generic PU, oak or pine wood, leather etc ? and then provide suggested settings ?
More bs we dont need while the f2 ultra has severe software weaknesses. For one we cannot process 16 bit depthmaps. This machine caters way too much for beginners. Also no global pass settings like lightburn has. These both severely weaken the results you can achieve while being an extremely high price for a 60w.
That was about 2-3mm out. I’d call that an epic fail.
Wonderful will save an awful lot of time. Thank you for posting. Nick
sarebbe ottimo se scalasse e inclinasse l'immagine in base all'oggetto (nel caso di oggetti rettangolari), comunque si posso utilizzarla
I love your videos ❤ After watching the first couple, you have become my, main "go to", source of information.. BTW, i am a little annoyed with you 😜- because i watched your videos, i was enticed (is that the right word?) into buying my own F2 Ultra UV. Thanks for the great work, keep the videos coming.. Cheers from Denmark …
How does this work with the F1 if it doesn't have a camera?
I'm always keen on them releasing new features, but this one leaves me scratching my head. As someone that never uses official materials, this just kinda-sorta centers on the object? Basically the functionality we had already when using batch processing mode, one for one-offs?
I would have been crazy impressed if it had actually used the position and height data to accurately place the design in all dimensions on your bamboo puck test. They have all the data to do this, but the algorithm still needs work.
Let's hope they've improved the conveyor belt skills as well, because I hate when it burns stuff into my belt. Happens far more often than anyone talks about. I think most people do not use the belt, is the reality. Even for me, I started finding it faster to just use a jig for everything.
I wonder if it’ll work with shiny objects like jewelry or a metal piece.
Nice, a great update
Love it!!! Thank you!!!
even if its just a click or 2 of the arrow keys, that's fantastic!! Reeeeally makin me wanna trade in the F1 for an F2 😁😁👍👍
I don't have an auto mode for my F2 UV… saids firmware is up to date
Wow! This is exciting.
God forbid you turn it sideways and rotate the design 😂
