Trump administration had 6 years to do something and they failed. Now it feels like cheap election tactic it win midterms.
This fee is useless. People are getting H1B from f1 which does not need $100000 fees. Really non skilled people from the most rural places of India are coming to US and taking jobs.
If you want to raise fees on H1-Bs, there should be promotions on US companies to train their employees on new technology and vocational training.
Supposedly H1 best brightest imports, actually cheapest. Proof 71% from cheap.ctry India.
TPS should expire. There are too many people who came here under different visas and when it expired, used the recent war in Eastern Europe to switch to TPS when CLEARLY they came for economic reasons- yet still have the audacity to say America needs to “keep giving THEIR country weapons to fight THEIR WAR”… if they dont appreciate America, then they we dont need them here

$100k fee and making ride share and delivery food companies confirm identity would solve 50% of our invasion problem in California. Incentivizing landlords to rent to only confirmed citizens would solve the rest. Have them receive fee when they don’t confirm citizenship and claim rental income and a discount when they rent to American companies and citizens.
you have kids coming for masters and somehow land a h1b visa job right after graduation. Meanwhile american kids scratch their heads working at McD wondering how student loans will be paid off. 5 years later the Indian kid has a green card and will climb the corporate ladder!

Approved i140 – unlimited extensions
H1b renewals – no 100k fee
H4 EAD – swallowing most jobs
Telugu Consultancies – fake experience from India, proxy jobs, multiple jobs

If lower salary was the main reason, companies would hire more women (27% lower salary than men for the same job)! Ever thought about that?
Also, if a company has US government contracts it must do all the job in USA. Most of the US insurance companies are handling data and doing processing in India. This is the data of US citizens. A Greed at its best !
I was personally interviewing H1-B candidates for a position and researching their degrees. Almost 2/3 of them had degrees from the addresses registered to local elementary and middle schools in the rural India. Some addresses were of farm houses and etc. Sure, there were some good candidates but no more than 1/3d of the pool. In my experience, American graduates of STEM and particularly CS degrees are better educated than the average H1-B candidate. it is all about greed and a modern kind of slavery by major corporations.
My nieces, my nephew graduated as Engineerings, but couldn't find the jobs in America. While companies get H1B visa with fake degrees in India, China ?
Congress needs to step in and repeal the Immigration act of 1965, especially the Immigration Act of 1990, which opened the flood gates for those H1-B Visa holders abuse.
Also, American workers need to file discrimination against companies who allow Tech workers to work from home (A lot of Those Indians are working in India instead of the USA) while forcing other White collar Administrative Work sectors to return to the office.
First I am not saying all h1bs are good, here is some stats:
There is about $1.3 million h1bs including their families in the country of 330 million people. That’s not even 0.5% of the population, so much for the strongest democracy in the world.

As soon as h1b 100k fee order was announced not even implemented, very most US companies opened/expanded their offices in India, UK, and in other countries.
Now all those countries not only got the foreign investments but also jobs. Jobs which in very conservative terms generate at-least $50B in federal taxes alone.
What about the spouses on H4 what specific skills do they have? Why are they here making stupid dance videos at Costco, what about the free schools for their kids and their anchor babies ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Why do we need body shopping, consulting companies in the first place ? Why can’t employers directly hire contractors without going through these body shopping or consulting companies? There are multiple layers of body shopping companies that file H1 and take the cut. How is that this is not being identified and curbed.

I thought Trump and Musk were all about these H-1B visas? Everyone knows they've been abused and corruption abounded with them. The truth is though, we need to start educating and training our own American healthcare physicians, scientists, researchers, etc, etc. Our education system is a joke, and people can't afford basic needs, let alone going to school for an education. There are just too many really bad problems now in the U.S. The country has gone down the toilet.
