Canada's trade into the united states is less than 3% of their trade! We can't hurt them! United States trade into Canada is over 75% of our trade. They can cripple us.
We were the largest energy supplier, but in case you're not paying attention. Venezuela supplies the exact same product and has more availability than Canada does, and they are 100% locked into selling to the United States. Ontario gets all its gas, diesel, motor oil, and most of its natural gas through the United States. Anybody that thinks Canada can even survive a trade war without incurring massive harm to our economy, and I mean massive is insane. Yes, it will hurt the United States, but it will destroy Canada. It's like the ninety eight pound weakling, picking a fight with a freaking gorilla.

Canada requires major time consuming and very expensive infrastructure upgrades to replace trading with the worlds largest economy across one of the worlds longest land borders.
