  1. Move weight forward on saddle and to your preferred side that you always unclip out of (only use one side, don't change it ever..). Unclip a couple of metres before stopping and because your weight is in right place, it'll nicely go down right at the point you stop.

  2. I got my first set of clipless peds 40 years ago, in my 20s. Now I ride with 60+ year-olds who are just getting into the sport. Everyone falls when they start out but the falls hurt A LOT more when you're 60!

  3. You better learn how to change that derailleur hanger yourself because you'll be bending that little piece of chocolate 🍫 a lot as you learn to unclip.

  4. My very first ride clipped in, I fell off at the very first stop, right next to a car. Went knee first into concrete. Big gash, bruised bone, still finished the rest of my ride though…. Sort of.. 1km from home I got a flat rear tyre and no spare tube so had to walk that last 1km… I’m still cycling though and thoroughly enjoying it.

  5. Trick is to start the unclip process before you stop. As you slow down but still moving unclip the foot you are going to put down. Put the other foot at the bottom of the stroke and unweight the saddle. Come to a full stop and lean to your unclipped side and put your foot down. You will fall over at the lights from time to time even after a long time riding clip ins
