Our host Laurens Saggau is taking on a continent-spanning adventure with a unique mission: track down the most extraordinary Mercedes-Benz in Africa. From heavily customized local icons to deep personal survival stories, this episode proves that the passion for the three-pointed star knows no boundaries 🌍✨
The journey kicks off at the equator in Kenya before heading into Nairobi, where Laurens meets Sam, a South African enthusiast driving a locally bought classic Mercedes-Benz all the way back home.
Heading south to Tanzania under Mount Kilimanjaro, Laurens talks S-Class endurance testing with Rob Holloway, Head of Global Communications Mercedes-Benz, before receiving an unforgettable welcome from a local Maasai tribe.
After passing the majestic Victoria Falls, Laurens checks in on our third S-Class conquering a parallel detour through Egypt.
In Windhoek, Namibia, Laurens and Rob inspect two historic pioneers: a classic “Ponton”—a direct ancestor of our S-Class—and a rare predecessor to the Unimog.
The final chapter unfolds in South Africa. Along Cape Town’s famous Chapman’s Peak, Laurens shares a moving conversation with Christopher White, who survived an 80-meter plunge off the cliff in 1980 thanks to Mercedes-Benz safety engineering. After touring Dr. Waldo Scribante’s jaw-dropping private collection at the BENZeum, the tour wraps in Johannesburg. Here, Laurens meets South African rugby captain Siya Kolisi, secures a signed souvenir for the next host, and finally crowns the winner of his ultimate African Mercedes-Benz challenge.

140 years of heritage, and currently getting their asses handed to them by Chinese brands. Too little, too late.
What a fantastic journey! I’ve been following your trip from the very beginning. I noticed the white line on the map at the start of your video. I’m curious to know: will you be heading to North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria), as the map suggests, or will you go straight to Europe?
I couldn't be more proud of this brand. Just pure love and how they connect with their fans
Listes guys all Mercedes workers you don’t already pay attention and take any responsibility for quality, you just selling your LOGO , i have recently bought e class amg line 2020 year face lift , but quality iz zero interior especially, shame on you !!!

Epic! Curious though why Makotopong museum isn’t captured??
Great video, lots of yapping, no where near enough car talk. Felt like a bunch of rich guys talking about expensive cars on smooth roads, like a LinkedIn for automobiles
This is an amazing masterpiece❤❤❤. On God🙏🏻
ถึกขนาดนี้ ลุยน้ำท่วมได้มั้ยครับ @Mercedes-Benz

I wish I can join you guys I really love traveling and drive 😢
To me the S-class is always the absolute best. It is not just a German car but rather Germany in car form. And for that reason it will always be loved and cherished the world over.
I love mercedes ♥️
IT'S EITHER A MERCEDES BENZ OR NOTHING
Thanks for showcasing the moso Tu nya/ Victoria falls 🇿🇲🇿🇼
Awesome 🎉 but V8 instead of V12 feels like a downgrade for S Class.
What an incredible journey! The S-Class truly represents the perfect combination of luxury, innovation, engineering, and ambition. Watching this from Kenya is inspiring—Mercedes-Benz continues to show what is possible when excellence meets vision. 🇰🇪
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve had a w190 and a w222 for 2 decades now, genuinely the best cars known to man.
