Canada Is Planning a New Immigration Pathway for H-1B Workers

Canada has announced plans for an accelerated pathway for H-1B workers. Can you apply today? Not yet.

Alex Kim explains the commitment in Budget 2025 and its mention in IRCC’s consultation on Express Entry priorities for 2027. A proposed pathway is different from an open application program—and the 2027 consultation does not set a confirmed launch date for this H-1B initiative.

While the new pathway is being developed, Canadian immigration or work permit options may already be worth exploring, depending on your qualifications.
