Nicholas Alkemade was a tail gunner in a Lancaster. While on a mission over Germany his plane and parachute caught fire. The lesser of 2 evils was to jump out of the plane without a working parachute. Freefalling for 18,000 feet he incredibly survived #shorts

This was a fantastic watch! I also created WWII history videos on my channel, so I really enjoyed this one. Keep up the great work—looking forward to more historical content! 🇺🇸🎖️

Magee fell 20,000 feet no parachute
How did this get recommended to me like a minute after I finished watching the other yarn hub video about someone falling from a plane and surviving without a parachute in World War II
The GeStaPo did not wear uniforms!
Yes the Germans treated him well, the germans said " if that did not kill you we certainly wont " .
They fell for that one.
I heard a story like this when I was in my 20's, the airman did indeed survive the fall, and the war. He was captured by the Germans, treated for several broken bones and later interrogated by the Gestapo. After finding his plane, they did find his chute ,or what was left of it.The end of the story is the letter he recieved was not however signed by the Gestapo, but by Adolf Hitler himself after hearing the story from the Gestapo.
In this video the junkers ju 88 is portrayed as a fighter. The JU 88 is a long range frontline bomber
“ it s true “ gestapo
Giving him a certificate after confirming the story is the most German thing I've ever heard
