  1. both Light and L are genius, that is for sure. they just different type of genius. Light is manipulative and strategic, easily using people at his disposal and making fail-proof plan. while L is methodological and critically perceptive. thats why L fall in love solving murder case – its peak puzzle for him.

solving murder cases is L being righteous, while killing criminals is Light being righteous. i feel like this is predestined of them. a switch!AU would be Light becoming killer killing criminals while having infinite resources, and L becoming detective with no money while having a death note.

  2. i haven't seen it anywere in the comments so ima say it… if L and Lights roles were switches, L would simply not get caught, because i strongly believe that Light would just not consider something like the deathnote to exist and thus not take on the case (or at least on take it on as a simple murder case were one individual started killing peoplle)

  3. L will use it lightly.

and he probably won't use it cleanse the world that quickly and would be more generous to life than the original kira was. aka light.

light will legitimately want l dead not because of him committing murders but because he wants the death note for himself in this timeline possibly.

  4. I think the biggest difference between L and light is that L wouldn't kill with a signature Heart attack like Light did, Light did that because he WANTED to get noticed. But if it's L who is killing criminals then he wouldn't bother with ego like Light did and just wouldn't create a pattern to follow

  5. L would literally do the same thing as Light, he put that inmate to death, and he was willing to test the notebook, he’s trash but Light was evil. They’re both garbage in terms of morals it’s hard to say whose worse.

  6. I think Kira if he ever suspects L which it may never ever get to that point, though if it did, given Kira's obsession with being correct, he'd probably just plant something on L and get him arrested regardless because he refuses to lose by any means necessary.

  7. L is insanely smart and he was playing a rigged game…even when light lost his memories, L nailed the whole situation perfectly, even though he could not possibly know how kira is commiting the murders…he said “light was kira, he willingly gave up his power and lost his memories but he planned how to gain it back.” Which is exactly what happened. He even pointed at the rule that was fake and which cleared light. His crews stupidity also played a big role. He was in an impossible situation, N and Mello knew how the list worked and could plan accordingly. When L found out about the note, he already knew he was a dead man alive and he cant do anything about it, even though he had a clear move:test the 13 day rule. But he knew he could die any minute in that situation so pushing it didnt matter at all and he let it go.

  8. Pride really is the only reason light lost. I mean, the whole Kira case was so one sided in his favor since L had to prove so much unbelievable stuff. So it’s no surprise that someone with a little more restraint than light would likely remain undetected

  9. It's also unlikely that L would have used the Death Note in the same way. Given his love of puzzles and genius-level pattern recognition (as evidenced by his talent for investing), he would probably have spent more time choosing names to write based on the long-term effects of those deaths on society. (It's also possible he would have used the Note primarily to control key people's actions, with their subsequent deaths being less important to his goals.) I could see him being much slower and methodical in his method, and targeting the entourage of political leaders rather than individual criminals. But even if he wrote dozens of names per day like Light, he probably would have randomized it enough that nobody would suspect the deaths were connected in the first place.

  10. Your theory is fundamentally flawed. The qualities associated to Light Yagami like 'exploitative' and 'shamelessness" only came after he became Kira. Light is essentially a good human being as we see in the manga when he loses his memory of the death note.

  11. …Are Mello and Near Kira 2 and 3? 👀 (I assume since L's age was shifted, so is theirs and they're around the same age now.) Or is he content just working alone?

  12. L wouldn't use the death note AND he wouldn't get caught even if he did. Light would never be able to find him. Let alone suspect him. And He could certainly never get enough evidence to have L convicted. Light was determined to get close enough to L to kill him. L would be determined not to be found and would never respond to provocations.

  13. It's a good insight about the topic but… 34 of video was about characters themself. The said analysis of announced scenario (Kira and L switching places) took only a small amount of whole picture. To think of it, the same thing seems to occur with videos about L and Johan from Monster. It wouldn't hurt if you consider theorizing about the listed topic at least a same about of screentime as about that foreplay of yours. Still the quality is impressive!

  14. Two year old video, but given the personality traits of both characters, L would stop after the first confirmation of the note's usefulness and then would dispose of the Deathnote immediately. I have no doubt that he would test it, but knowing what we know about L as a character. L would have no desire to use it in the way Light did, but that doesn't make for a good video.

  15. Bro the whole Lind L Tailor thing was also important for provoking Light to use police info and if you can't localise that to Kanto, that's still an excess of a million.

I think people also don't acknowledge the only reaaon L was able to get so much material at the start and even acquire the FBI agents/get poloce to help him was that he was able to prove that Kkra was a person ans not just a phenomena/force.

Unless you're able to prove there's a person behind it, it's certain people will start to presume it's divine judgement and form a new religion to this force.

  16. before I watch, my prediction is that L wouldn't feel the need to fight Light out of pride, and if you combine that with how cautious he is then Light probably never actually finds him. I imagine he'd either put the notebook down for a while until everyone gives up, or he's use the mechanics of the death note to make sure you couldn't connect the dots.

  17. Also, on light's part, he was alone using the death note, misa wasn't his equal in that, and it's easy to have a big head when you're alone. How do you get humbled if you don't see anyone else do it?
