/* —– VIDEO INFORMATION —– */

Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I’m your host Paul and this video we’re breaking down the X-files.

Huge thank you for joining me again as we search for the truth and in this video we’ll be going through every episode in the second season. Releasing on September 16th 1994 this is officially the series longest season. This is the season where it went from cult hit to cultural phenomenon and it cant be overstated how important this season was. Clocking in at 25 episodes it aired almost exactly a year to the date of Season 1. And knowing they filmed almost 50 episodes in 2 years and wrote, released and edited them…yeah….you wonder how we got to where we are with 8 episodes every 2 years. But real world issues affected production and Gillian Anderson fell pregnant around the time. So several the of the storylines were changed and it was decided she’d be abducted by aliens.

If she was pregnant and she needed some new clothes then she couldve checked out our merch store right below the video. We do have our x-files themed shirt there along with lots of other ones and lots of big big discounts. Shabow.

  1. I know people that have a worked on wealthy compounds on(in) Martha's vineyard….they thought it was very funny that the "fluke monster" spent time in the sewers there😂🖤✨(although they said there are far worse things already there😉😏)

  2. These Breakdowns are amazing! I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning and am now finally a member because of these X Files Videos. Watching the show growing up..I was always disappointed when there wasn’t a mythology/conspiracy based episode because unlike what you’ve said about your own experience..I thought those episodes were the best in the series! A few of them even made Season 9 more watchable. In any event..Thanks Paul..for all the hard work you do!

  3. Early season 2 has some fantastic acting from DD. The tiredness, the depression, the anger (especially in One Breath), the scruffy look. He does downtrodden superbly well.

  4. Aww, you didnt like the green bugs in the forest from season 1 or the throat burster here from season 2 and those are like 2 of the 4 episodes I actually remember liking. I'm with you about not enjoying the episodes tied to the on running alien abduction/government stuff, I also much preferred the monster of the week stuff.

  5. X-Files truly hit its stride in second season, updating horror movie templates for a modern audience. The cinematography, score, writing, deadpan acting is still like nothing else beyond Twin Peaks. The mythology came into its own too and was genuinely compelling and scary. 10 sunflower seeds out of 10

  6. Just as a note, the episode "Sleepless" actually predates the Russian Sleep Experiment by more than a a decade. It was an internet creepypasta that first showed up sometime around 2010.

  7. good shit bro, I actually noticed a big gap in xfiles retrospectives couple years ago.
    like if I had the motivation to start a channel that's probably what id focus on, but more haphazardly.

  8. Love Nick chinlund, he’s such an awesome character actor, going from villain to hero in “Tears of the sun”, and Please do a Break down on the Bill Pullman film “The Serpent & the rainbow “…..so much insane stuff around that film

  9. Fellow veggie here! I was so surprised and delighted to hear your shout-out. I'm already loving your summaries, I wish now that I could upvote them twice!

  10. Great breakdown but you missed the link with Episode 20 (Freak Show/guy with the 'dead' twin attached) and the movie Basket Case where it's a similar concept. The 'twin' lives in a basket that the brother hides from everyone but the 'twin' kills anyone the guy gets close to as it doesn’t want the brother to abandon it
