Definitely Kurt hit you harder. 😢
I wonder how Mystique will react to the news of Nightcrawler’s death? Any chance you two will react to Lanterns?
90's X-Men's in the same universe as Spider-Man (90's animated series). They even have a crossover episode when Spidey started mutating & went to Prof. X for help. Last season in '97 the last episode had Peter & MJ in it.
The difference about the other deaths is that Kurt's death was by a Celestial and the Celestial will intend to keep him dead because that was the sacrifice. I cried when Kurt died
"Greater love hath no man, that he lay down his life for his friends."
Rest in peace and Godspeed, Kurt 'Nightcrawler' Wagner. The appearance of a demon, the soul of a saint, and the heart of a hero.
The episode missed Gambit’s iconic line, “Everybody can relax, Gambit has returned.” Cyclops should’ve fought his brother Havoc—we needed that fight. The ending was weak; Rogue should’ve hugged Gambit and said, “I’m okay, because I finally got to touch you,” and then she flies into the stars.
People called him 'creature' but for me he will always be a Paladin….
TY, The Movie Couple, This Video Is Great.
7:41 barely an inconvenience
The face of a devil the soul of an angel the heart of a hero Kurt your sacrifice will be remembered
Great Show, Amazing finale!!
19:50 RIP Nightcrawler! 😔🙏🏽
Damn xmen 97 was 1 of the few cartoons that really made me cry.
Kurt ( Night Crawler ) is a man of Faith ; it's what we do . . . . .
" Sacrifice for others in the name of . . . Love . "
We should've gotten a full-on fight with Celestial Rogue and Apocalypse Gambit.
This season was so good. The animation and writing were on point. Would’ve liked to see more Apocalypse as Apocalypse but we still may get that. We Finally got the answer to the Mystique/Val Cooper theory. I’m still not ready to rule out she never impersonated Val until we find where she’s been all this time. This season was very X-Men deep cut heavy, which helps in future seasons. 🔥🔥
12:02 Cable doesn’t use his powers in fights and relies on conventional weapons because he’s constantly using them to stop the techno-organic virus from spreading and keeping it at bay. Whenever he uses his powers for fighting, it allows the virus to spread in his body. Therefore he uses his abilities only when absolutely necessary.
Awesome K-POP Demon Hunters shirt.
kurt is so great
THE BOOK!
I wonder if we're finally moving on to X-Men 98? Considering we've quite at least 1 months-long time jumps in the present this season, there's only so much you can cram into 12 months lol
They build up APOCALYPSE so much, just to be defeated "SUPER EASY, BARELY AN INCOVENIENCE" a few minutes after he finally arise, they didn't even give us time to absorb how much of a threat he was, the show should have ended in a cliff hanger after he controlled all of the X-men, X-Force, and X-Factor.
Why would you be surprised for them to use Doc Ock? You said cause he’s from Spider-Man? What about last season? They actually showed Spider-Man and then later they showed Peter Parker and Mary Jane along with Flash Thompson in the background. Sony and Marvel share right now, at least that’s how it seems when Marvel is making Sony movies like Brand New Day under Sony’s banner.
19:50 "Blood is blood. But family is a choice." –Kurt Wagner
I felt you bro. Both are my characters. And yes daredevil did by the blob falling on him. The lamest way possible. At least this was it was with dignity
Because i have faith ❤
You can called it.
Rogue never did that and this is what Kevin Feige wanted. He disliked how much Beau DeMayo loved the comics and wanted him to have original stories so they kicked him out where James Gunn was given a bigger role who's done way worse.
You can see the writer of this finale. He did DCAU Vixen which was thrash and Arrow which couldn't sustain itself.
His name is Brain Ford Sullivan. He actually story board the whole season 2. He redid all of DeMayo's work.
Also, wolverine can smell and she's been in the same room as him and he said nothing.
I thought rogue couldn't kiss gambit
That head shot kill cable gave gambit so apocalypse won t take over
They got that from the uncanny xforce comic
Where fantomex shot apocalypse when he inherited a small child body killing apocalypse
Even though losing Nightcrawler was disheartening. It was his choice to save his sister and his found family Now that is fate and Kurt is a true man of god.
One Thing about Kurt most powerful gift is his FAITH on everyone
4:10 👀 😂
Psylocke is already such an important part of the X-Men comics, so it would be awesome to see her officially join the X-Men team in the series next season as we seen intro card “Psylocke”. She’d bring a really unique dynamic to the team especially with her skills and powers
12:42 Not really how that works. Marvel owns these characters 100% with just the small caveat on the issue of films and live-action TV due to Sony owning the film and live-action TV rights to Spider-Man and the associated characters.
To put it at its most simple, Sony (via Columbia Pictures) doesn't own Spidey or his associated friends and foes at all. What they have is a long-standing perpetual licensing agreement for the film rights and TV rights they struck with Marvel in 1999. Perpetual in that Sony has to keep making Spider-Man or Spidey-adjacent (Like Venom, Madame Webb, Morbius, etc) films or the rights revert back to Marvel at zero cost to them.
Marvel has gotten more character film rights back due to rights reverting before and after they started plans to make films in-house than many realize. In order, it was Thor (2004 and funnily enough, another Marvel license to Sony), Iron Man (2005), Black Widow (2006), Punisher (2010), Daredevil (2012), Blade (2012) Ghost Rider (2013, also Sony Pictures), and Luke Cage (2013, also Sony Pictures). The rights reverted due to films not being made too long after their latest or in many cases, the films never being made at all.
Technically, only the X-Men and Fantastic Four film rights returned to Marvel due to money exchanging hands with the 20th Century Fox acquisition by Disney.
As part of this agreement, production of a new Spider-Man film must begin within 3 years and 9 months and the film itself released within 5 years and 9 months or the rights return to Marvel.
Now, Sony is determined to never let those film rights go because Spider-Man's a big money printer for them. So they utilize every loophole available to them within the licensing contract.
1. The aforementioned spin-offs. They don't feature Spider-Man himself, but they still count for resetting the clock.
2. The Spiderverse films. Because an animated film is still considered a film for the purposes of the license. (I have no problem because animated films are already too looked down upon in comparison to live-action)
3. MCU Co-productions. These still count as Sony making a new film and so the 3-5 year and 9 month countdown still resets.
For every other medium, from comics (of course) to video games to animated television, like with X-Men '97 (along with Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and every Spidey cartoon from the past decade or two), Marvel lawyers don't need to so much as give Sony a call.
I will end by saying it's not entirely cut and dry, though. Animated TV only doesn't count so long as the episodes are under 44 minutes.
Under the licensing deal's language, anything running for 44 minutes or higher legally counts as a film and would thus violate Sony's exclusive film rights.
Rogues outfit resembles alot like that of the ETERNALS!
Check the post credit, there’s a cool Easter egg in the Mystique file
Nightcrawler was a real one.
On Doc Ock appearing in X-Men 97. Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man except the tv animated rights which are owned by Marvel. I think Disney/Marvel got it back in 2011/2012. Whenever Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes were airing.
Kurt has died before in the comics so there is a possibility he might come back, but honestly I hope they don't bring him back because it would really defeat the purpose of his sacrifice
my 2nd fav is nightcrawler this hit me hard too.
I knew it when Kurt looked at the shrine
Marvel regained the animated television rights for Spider-Man jusr before being bought by Disney. And, that version of Dr. Octopus was from the 90s cartoon, which predates Sony's possession of the rights.
Because I Have Faith 😭🙏🏻. Yeah Dustin when McCoy was holding the Bible oh my goodness that hit so hard 🔥 I cant believe it. And that post credit was insane I can't believe she's back we haven't seen her in 30 years in the X-Men animated saga. Gambit is back I'm so happy for him and rogue. Incredible reaction not only for this episode but the whole season thank you much love 😊. I hope magneto returns next season
Season 3 & 4 🎉🎉🎉 if we’re lucky, Marvel will greenlight season 5
