I react to one of the most insane clips I’ve seen off of Caleb Hammer, where a couple is bringing in almost $100K/yr combined, yet they are still receiving upwards of $500/mo in EBT money.

As a newly single mom who just recently had to get ebt this makes me so mad. I have two kids and I work hard, go to school and I still feel a little bad getting benefits. How do these people get away with this? It’s fraud and they can go to jail. The benefits are there to help only for a period of time when you need it.
According to the White House, people who turn in fraud are subject to receive 1% of the money being stolen. So, let's see how many internet sleuths start watching Caleb, go find these guest's real names, and start turning them in for some $$. 🤣
Also, I need your reaction to the couple he just had on & the wife admitted to pr0st!tut!on. 👀
At less than 30k a year, just few more thousand a year would immensely help me. That or just a hundred or two of ebt. When I first started my current job, I had been on ebt because I worked a very part time job before then with a baby on the way. My goal was to get off assistance, and at the end of the year after starting my new full time job making maybe 2500 yearly at the time, it dropped from a couple hundred on ebt to 16$. SIXTEEN. I didn't renew. 10 years later, with medical bills, car repairs, other bills, just that couple hundred would help. But I have the feeling I'd qualify even less now than I did before.
Snap used to be required to verify income every 6 months. When covid happened a lot of those verification steps went away. This was the stuff that Trump was trying to avoid when reinstating many of the past rules regarding snap. These are the people that wouldve become intelligible by what trump reinstated
This kind of thing makes me so angry. I am disabled. I have pots.😂😂 just kidding. I don’t have that but I do have a chronic illness called Scleroderma and I applied for it. I’m on disability and I got $70 for EBT and these people are making $100,000 and can get it so ridiculous to me. This is why people like me and others in my situation have to fight to get benefits. And they say that I barely qualified because when I was 19, I started my retirement fund, which puts me over the “poverty level“ and mind you it’s only $690 that I get a month from my retirement. I have medical bills up the ass and have to fight to get assistance. These people should honestly be put in jail. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Unless their income is under the table and under the mattress they are not hiding it from HRDC. This is either a lie or someone is terrible at their job.
They should be made an example of
Maybe it’s cause I’m Canadian but if you make 100k a year, you’re supposed to contribute towards things like EBT for the people that actually need it… if you make 100k a year, you shouldn’t be getting services made for people in dire situations…
So many people are doing the same thing. It’s sickening.
It’s crazy someone would go on such a popular online show and admit to fraud like this.
This infuriates me. As someone on EBT, I know for a fact that if you don't report an income change within 10 days, it’s fraud and they can ban you for life. I was completely honest and only get $25 a month, but I need every bit of it since I lost my job and had to move back in with my parents. This whole situation isn't cute…. It’s pretty ghetto and loser behavior.
I wonder how many government officials are watching Caleb Hammer just in case it could simplify one of their investigations.
I spend less than 400.00 per month even 5 week months for a family of 3! 500.00 on EBT?! Wow!!!! Crazy!
Veterans benefits are not based on your income. The only "benefit" is if 100% disability classified unemployable. That is rare and then tou would be limited on how much tou can work and it should be revised
Yet im fully disabled, missing a leg and covered in burns only able to get 1200 a month as a single dad and I cant get food stamps
Many years ago I had to get on assistance for a little under a year, I believe. I was pregnant and living with the child's father. We were not on great terms, but making it. At some point, he got a raise at work but didn't tell me, and because I was "overpayed" benefits due to this raise, 2 years after we stopped receiving benefits, had split up, and I was living elsewhere, I was arrested for "stealing from the government". BTW, I was "overpayed" $150. Felony. Because of something I didn't know.
So if these two aren't arrested and charged, I think we'll all know exactly why.
Two very hungry caterpillars.
People say it never happens…I don't understand how people can think people wouldn't steal from benefits. Of course they do
It's just so gross. We make a decent amount in our household and have OWED into the IRS for a couple of years. That must be what is going towards these fraudulent types of people.
And this is why healthily dealt, healthy shame, needs to come back into the game. Cause I’m tired of this shit. Even when I was eligible for food stamps and assistance, I was so ashamed of the idea of it that I never got them. And guess what, I put on my big girl panties and did it on my own. And now, my whole life has changed.
Caught, Redbone handed.
Notice the man is the one that couldn't lie. The woman had no problem lying.
