This world we are living in is the one Canadians have tried to live by in all their lives as we country after country show the courage for the changes the world needs. People are communicating instantly with each other and have come together like Earth needs us to do very badly as we see the nuclear threats constantly now. No the Griphon is only a small step we in Canada are taking as we as all these other countries are showing our courage and commitment to the world as we have done in small ways throughout our existance.
This should be a no brainer decision. Who would enslave themselves to the America we are seeing as their whole jet is just them taking our money with complete control to them. We are a changed world and when we have a jet and job offer like we are getting from Sweden that would fly our northern skies, where emergencies if they happen the pilot can land on a highway and wait for the calvary. Seriously though this whole system gives Canada a chance to bring back the minds that created our old Avro as we will be making and designing our jets and giving the world this time our ingenuity as they are giving us the factories and jobs we desperately need right now.
People think the world doesn’t have options. The world will make options.
If I was Canada after being insulted, threatened, etc. You’re darn right I find another to align with.
f-35 sucks
If you want to get a platform that's made for a country that is hostile. Having a Gripens in your fleet means that you can start up in 39 seconds.
Could? Should! Will I hope! Better & cheaper!!! TRAITOR Trump aids Putin (oil $, lifted sanctions), screws Ukraine (stopped aid), fights allies, destroys world economy.
New alliance: Canada, Germany, France, UK, Sweden, Japan,… Kick W E A K Russia (20% taken in 12 yrs) OUT = LASTING PEACE !
There is only one question. why would any Canadian support America economically ? The answer is Canadians and the rest of the world are boycotting everything American.
As a Vietnamese, I wish Viet Nam could have Gripen Jets too .
The Gripen is a better all weather aircraft and we would own it. Not be leasing it from the US
You want to protect the border? Buy the Gripen’s. You want to retaliate to a foreign hostile country? Buy the F-35. But twiddling your thumbs for political posturing is not in the best interests of Canadians.
Done deal why are we seeing this?
F35 are junk, they don't work at -40 F47 are it it's why usa are canceling orders
What about the KR21 from south Korea twin engine
Bombardier. Pronounced Bom-Bar-Dee-Yay
It's not like Canada needs a real military presence.
f35 could not be ready before 2040 for real . I Really Hope Canada Dont buy Not 1 more Worthless f35 who's Garbage and Gripen-E is Winning All Test they did .And Canada and The World cant Not Trust the american for Nothing .It Will be the Worst Mistake if the Canada even think to buy 1 usa jet . It will be the Ultra Hypocrite from Canada and Mr.Carney with is Speach and Still will or want to Buy the Worthless f35 and Get Nothing from american and All the Backstabing ,Try to Broke Economy and Canada ,Did hoekstra put the Alberta Voter Lists on insternet and make a app to make the False referendum and Still gone trust those SOB ,Bastard american-usa . Huge Mistake if Canada by 1more Dumbass f35 .Dont make the Canadians Money to TRAITOR american.
Mistake if Canada even think to trust usa .
Canada needs to consider carefully. It's Canada's sovereignty and its decision. However, the choice will have a long-term impact over the next 20 or 50 years.
Canada should get on board with Saab's 6th Gen fighter already in the works. Start with Gripens and build them in country. Then when the 6th Gen is ready transition from assembling Gripens to what ever the new plane will be called. I wouldn't invest any more in the UK,Italy,Japan 6th Gen until we see how Saab is doing. Gripens(F39E's) will do just fine sorting against lumbering Russian bombers and old fighters.
The F-35 creates a number of strategic risks for Canada:
• economic: the U.S. would use our dependency for parts, updates, and support against us
• economic: Lockheed Martin constantly creates cost overruns and delays over this plane
• military: the F-35 is less capable for Arctic operations
• military: in a conflict with the U.S., we would be fighting them with their own weapons, and no way to replenish ours
Well the 6 global eyes phase 1 of the deal now it said might up the fleet to 140
I bet that the deal is done with the Swedes F taco trump
The F35 is over budget and behind schedule. Now Trump is putting kill switches in it. The Saab Gripen has always been a better choice.
Then the industry isn't paying attention because it was clear we were going with the Gripen months ago. This is one of the many costs to the US that are being exacted because America's allies no longer trust the USA. You reap what you sow.
Move on from the US ripping us off. So many more positives building here & eliminating the US from spying on us
