Closing Tomorrow… But These Repairs STILL Aren’t Done

The builder said everything was fixed—but this new construction reinspection told a different story. With closing scheduled for tomorrow, I found a garage door that still wouldn’t seal properly, an unresolved plumbing connection, and construction debris still on the roof.

Some repairs were underway while I was there. This is why verifying repairs before closing matters.

Would you close with these items still unresolved? Let me know below.

  1. I imagine the cheapest fix for the garage door is gonna be to grind out the high spots/slope otherwise someone is probably going to mix up some mix and lay a thin bead across there and shut the garage door down on it? I'm thinking cost effective fixes the right way would be to cut that part of the slab chip it out and pour a new one right there while tying it into the surrounding slabs with rebar I think? Idk I don't do a ton of concrete but I do see these kinds of fixes regularly. There's no way they are gonna pay for the garage and driveway slabs to be torn up and redone and that seems excessive.
