H. Lüdi surveys lab buildings with an iPhone instead of a tape measure | Metaroom case study.

H. Lüdi + Co AG prefabricates laboratory ceiling systems to the millimeter. So every project starts with the same question: what does the building actually look like?

The answer used to come from a site visit, a laser distance meter, and days of modeling, with a transposed number waiting to cause problems later. Now it comes from a scan taken on an iPhone Pro during the visit itself, exported in two taps.

Andreas Reust explains what changed, and why ease of use matters more than any other feature.

About Metaroom

Metaroom turns an iPhone or iPad Pro into a Scan-to-BIM tool. Scan a room, export it as IFC in two taps, and start planning from real geometry instead of drawings nobody trusts. No modelling background required.
