Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to blow dry your hair using a blow dryer and a round barrel brush:
1. Start with freshly washed and towel-dried hair. Gently pat your hair with a towel to remove excess moisture, but do not rub vigorously as it can cause frizz and damage.
2. Apply a heat protectant spray or serum to your hair. This will help minimize heat damage from the blow dryer.
3. Divide your hair into sections. Clip the top section of your hair away and focus on drying the bottom section first.
4. Take a round barrel brush and start with the bottom section of your hair. Hold the brush underneath a small section of hair, close to the roots.
5. With the blow dryer in your other hand, position it above the brush, directing the airflow down the hair shaft, following the brush as you move it through your hair. This technique helps smooth the cuticles and adds volume.
6. Slowly move the brush and the blow dryer together down the length of the hair section, keeping the airflow focused on the brush. Continue this motion until that section is dry.
7. Repeat these steps with the remaining sections of your hair, working your way up to the top section. For the top section, you can lift the hair at the roots to add volume by positioning the brush underneath the hair and directing the airflow upward.
8. Once all the sections are dry, you can use the cool shot button on your blow dryer to set the style. This helps seal the cuticles and adds shine.
9. Finally, apply a small amount of hair serum to the ends of your hair to add moisture and reduce frizz.
