For the life of me, I cannot play this C chord clean and I’ve been practicing forever, my hands are on the small side, so my ring finger to stretch up to that note on the a string is terrible. I can make the stretch, but then I can’t bend my ring finger at the first knuckle to come down and not mute the string underneath structurally I just can’t do it.
Honestly, if the C cord was a person, I would punch it straight in the face
I thought guitar was fairly easy till the chords session came and I almost gave up. Thanks for this video. I am still practicing chords for a month now and I am still not able to get the clear sound. I hope one day I will get it.
I have a difficult top joint on my left middle finger the doesn’t bend. I use my ring and little finger for the C.

The c chord for me was not to hard
Finished grade 1 and also started with grade 2, but the C-chord still is so difficult especially with "fast" changes between them like a G, Big G, EM or D

As a grown man with hands the size of a 12 year old girl I'm seriously considering taping thimbles to the end of my fingers like Tony Iommi. Although this video has definitely helped getting my fingers into the right position.
You have finger tips but not toe tips.
Yet you can tip toe but not tip finger.
I’m an a beginner and watching your how to play chord’s video s, and the A is impossible, while the D is very difficult, but I found this C chord much easier!
I’m looking forward to trying this out. I’ve been very frustrated with this Chord. I don’t have great flexibility in my fingers and seem to either hit 3 or 1 deadening them. The angle or shifting up a little may help.

Thank you for this! Im ok with the fingering for the most part. But it was physically impossible for me to not mute the D string. Im pretty ive been playing some sort of F or G in that position for years. Moving up an muting the E was the key thank you!
best chord ever
I've been practicing for a month and I still can't get a clean C chord. I've tried every angle. I have really short fingers, so maybe that's the problem. Feeling frustrated.
I am back to this video from Grade 2. Don't think I have perfected this quite yet. You can see that Justin leaves his pinky down here but for some reason I have developed the bad habit of lifting pinky up while holding C chord, and I also touch the fretboard with my palm slightly muting high E string every now and then. These issues are making it harder to do the C, Fmaj7 and Weak G switches fast and clean enough.
Somehow the C chord feels easy and natural for me, but trying to mute the E string with my ring finger feels impossible. The finger tip is just too far from the E string, and if I try to flatten the finger, it's becomes pretty hard to press on the A string so the string doesn't rattle and at the same time hard not to mute D string
I've been teaching myself with the hal leonard complete edition and this is the first chord it teaches me, I think i get why now, with it being a weirder shape like this it helps get me used to the ways my fingers may have to position themselves.
