John Humphrey, Aaron Alexander & Jon Maturan watch I Can Do Bad All by Myself (2009) for the first time in this full movie reaction and review! Tyler Perry’s comedy-drama stars Taraji P. Henson as April, a troubled nightclub singer forced to care for her sister’s three children after Madea catches them looting her home. John, Aaron & Jon react to Madea’s hilarious “Jaws” Bible lesson, the Club Indigo performances, Sandino and April’s romance, the powerful church scenes, and Mary J. Blige’s unforgettable title-song performance.

  2. Lee was the man April mother dated and he abused her. Her mother didn’t believe her, that’s part of why she is the way she is. And hearing that her married boyfriend tried to do the same to her niece, triggered her back to her abuse. And she was saying “He told my mother he didn’t do anything” and “that it was her (April) fault”

  3. I cant watch this movie without crying at least once.. even though some of the drama might be a bit exaggerated, it's still very much relatable for me. Even moreso now that I have lost a parent.

  4. I can’t wait until y’all watch something like For Colored Girls. It’s one of Tyler’s more well-rounded movies but maybe that’s based on the fact that it was a poem and a play by Ntozake Shange.

  5. 41:15 the one thing I can appreciate about Baptism (though my feelings about organized religion is very complicated) is we try to make church as meaningful, passionate, uplifting as possible. I dont think I would survive catholic church.

  6. I’ll never understand why yall clown Tyler Perry for having “cartoonishly evil characters” when there’s so much evidence of there being way worse people out there lmao

  7. 40:08 April does care about the kids. She just doesn’t want to be the one to be responsible for them. These are NOT her kids! These are her sister‘s kids. These kids have trauma. They need a mom & a dad…& therapy. She can’t even pay the bills in her own house that’s why she’s with a married man who will pay her bills. She has her own problems that she needs to deal with before taking care of kids that need medical care. She already said she’s not ready for kids. She wants help to get them into a loving foster home. She’s not gonna let them just go to anybody…she cares. I think it’s wrong to force people that say multiple times that they don’t want kids to take care of kids. You’re just putting the kid in a very bad situation & you’re putting the adult in an unfair situation.
