I booked a top deck Deluxe Single Apartment complete with an ensuite shower and skylights on the ZSSK Zemplín night train, taking an overnight trip from Bratislava to Humenné for just 67 Euro!

Oh, an hour before departure? Nice, I'm going to Bratislava at the end of September and would have 50 minutes in Bratislava to change to this train, but if train station is sketchy and you can board the train that fast… Yeah, I would just go straight to my train😄
My best memory of Bratislava Main Station is a dude trying to sell me Hugo Loos perfume 3 separate times within 25 minutes.
I have been travelling in these double deck sleeping cars since 1995 (one if the first journeys with my then fiancée from Vienna to London via Brussels) and I'm more than happy that these wonderful carriages have got a 2nd life. The price if 68€ for a single sleeper compartment with WC&shower is really amazing! Therefore, I would even relinquish a towel, snd take my own with me, if I could get such a price for other european connections!

As a German, it's a shame about that we abandoned our sleeper trains. Today Austria and private companies operate these trains and the German railway could operate these services, but the management is bad.

The worst about of Bratislava Hlavny station is that it only has 7 tracks and if you have to board a train, you only learn about 5 minutes before boarding which track to run to

The power outlet you show at 8:10 is not a European style socket. It's a French style socket. The European style socket doesn't have the ground pin at the top. It has ground springs at the sides instead.
But beside that. I do miss those sleeper trains, and I wonder why oebb didn't get them when they bought the rest of DB's stocks of night trains when they started nightjet.

For this type of sleeper car, however, the upper deck is really the only recommended option. The lower-deck compartments are so cramped that there isn't even enough personal space for a single person. In particular, there can be disturbing noise from the upper-deck toilets and showers.
Not sure if you’ve given it a go but you should try get the intercity from Ventimiglia to Milano , my family is from Liguria , and it’s a rather nice view on the riviera, there’s also a Ventimiglia to Verona and a Ventimiglia to Roma Termini too

In the last month getting somewhere on time- especially involving Bratislava is wishful thinking. Also the closed of spaces etc where also because of TOI TOI/DIXI toilets…
They are renovating the usual ones in the dungeon :P.
The room is nice and if it would run for the price direction Prague and Pilsen I would pay for that even the 70€. Especialy for the separate shower and toilet 😀

Sorry, but in my opinion the terms ‘luxury’ and ‘deluxe’ are not appropriate here. You’d find luxury on trains like the Orient Express or on modern trains such as the ‘Seven Stars’ or ‘Shiki-Shima’. But not in a compartment that resembles a third-class hospital room. Even if it has a private shower.

Where is the Gallery on the ZSSK website? I also tried to book one of these new "Apartments" but the site only gives me the usual "1-bed compartment Single Deluxe (2nd Class)" as an option
I didn't even realize that Slovakia had sleeping trains and would have thought that after the break up of Czechoslovakia the internal distances within the two successor states would be too short.
