I visited the original Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang outlet at Yishun Park Hawker Centre to meet founder Noorman Mubarak—a former Singapore Airlines cabin crew member and third-generation hawker.
I went behind the scenes, tried its signature Lombok-style chicken and compared the different sambals to find out whether it genuinely deserves its consistently high ratings.
Afterwards, I explored more unusual food around Yishun Park Hawker Centre, including a rare Hakka tofu bowl, prawn-paste chicken from Ah Tan Wings and Yemeni food from Habibi Grill.

Not consistent. Sad. Best one is those triangle banana left.
Please open in Japan..
The best Taliwang outlet is in Yishun, the rest standard is abit inconsistent. Sometimes when I have craving, I will travel all the way to Yishun 😅
Hi ghib
Best Nasi Lemak is in Malaysia where even Singaporeans come to eat
$4k for Hawker stall rental is LUDICROUS
A Malay selling fake Ayam Taliwang to the original country where Ayam Taliwang is from… yeah no thx
Yo, I would actually go out of my way to try this!
I totally stopped patronising them when i found out abt them complaining they were fined by NEA. Greed knows no bounds. Even use pity tactics to gain sympathy.
"The controversy surrounding Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang centered on a viral February 2025 complaint regarding National Environment Agency (NEA) rules requiring stallholders to be physically present at their hawker stalls.
The Incident: In February 2025, co-owner Noorman Mubarak posted on Facebook that his heavily pregnant wife (the registered stallholder) received an NEA warning for not being physically present at their Yishun Park Hawker Centre stall during operating hours.
The Argument: Mr Noorman argued that after running the stall since 2017, they had built a remote operational system using software and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to handle administrative duties while hired staff managed the physical stall.
NEA’s Stance: The NEA defended the rule stating that hawkers must operate stalls personally to prevent illegal subletting, which drives up rental and food prices.
Parliamentary Response and Chain Expansion DebateGovernment Response: In March 2025, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Koh Poh Koon addressed the issue in parliament. He noted it was a one-sided account, pointing out that the business had expanded significantly into a private chain with multiple outlets across NEA centers and other commercial locations.
Policy Limits: The ministry emphasized that Singapore's subsidized hawker system is designed to support individual operators and entry-level hawkers, rather than accommodating large private chain operations."
enjoy your vids .. https://youtu.be/P-ZnqnP0UaE i challenge you to busk at Orchard Road on a weekday.. enjoyed ur guitarings
SG nasi lemak is better than Malaysia's becos before 1965, nasi lemak originated from SG
Ghib, please consider coming to Chang San food center. It really is a hidden gem but the food there is extremely good. I had an ex-neighbor who moved 20 minutes away but still travel there every week just for the food. Some stalls I would recommend are any of the mee Pok shops, fu hua soya bean and definitely man fu chicken rice. Hope you can vlog a visit there!
First 11minutes feels like an ad. 😂
I stopped patronizing them when the boss himself clarified he will get all his staff to REFUSE requests to place the chili off to the side (i.e. not on the chicken), for someone like me who loved the dish, but couldn't take the heat.
Miss Kerabu by Arang. Damn good. Unfortunately closed now.
17:28 I remember visiting this place during my yearly hospital checkups for Hideki but it closed and another Japanese food stall popped up. Now its a different one
That you tasted their nasi lemak with your hands in itself deserves 5-stars!
NTFH one not really nice , sad to say
hmmm .. I have eaten it before, maybe Ghib can go back a few weeks later unannounced and taste the food…. At least it’s fair way to know if the food is fresh when the owner is not around..
I really like their nasi lemak but there isn't one near my house. The markup on grab on panda is a lot I think my favourite option without set cost like $10+ so it's a nice treat for myself, I order it once a month or once every 2 months only on payday haha
saw this review yesterday and i went down to hougang branch which i sort of disappointed. the rice is too moist and isn't fragrance, lacking of coconut milk. fried chicken doesn't taste good.. chilli wise, i'll say is good.
my parents n i agreed that it isn't worth the price and time to travel for it
The Nasi Lemak i usually try is from 'Dapur Hassan' & Crave. But this makes me want to try different Nasi Lemak stalls all over again! Hehe.
Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang ini paaaaaasti ENAAAAKKK!!🤩Saya akan coba cabang di Indonesia🔥

Yong tau fu is originally a Hakka menu, and like you said, I reckon they fuse it with lei cha, another Hakka cuisine
Came to watch Ghib Ojisan slide down playground slide 🛝…
Stayed for the Paid Promotion Nasi Lemak advertisement.
Boss of Ayam Taliwang, please come to the east side and bring back the standard of your food! I’ve been disappointed at both locations I went to.
Tampines food always cold, and PLQ was even worse.
The red and green chilli were tasteless the one or two times I tried, and the chicken was cold too.
Hope you can improve the quality and consistency because I used to enjoy your food.
I ate once with my friend at Keat Hong cc
We both tried different plates
Both we don't like due to the chicken hard and not that nice
Kh cc closed now
And open at kh shopping centre and at teck whye Rasa Rasa.
But I don't want to buy anymore
Think it's outlet via outlet and depends on the staff I guess.
Anyways
Chaiyo
Try Ur best
Nowhere now but up ok😊
And I do hate fake review
Won't sell my soul for a free items
👏
So so only
It was so so when i got it on delivery. Perhaps time to visit on site.
It should be made clear if a food review video is an invited one.
Ghib oJi-san, if you ever come to Bandung, please try Ayam Taliwang Setrasari Mall, I recommend that eateries. Get the spiciest one, you won't regret.
Any ayam taliwang places that sell cold chicken isn't good.
You were/are fortunate that you could/can eat as much/many chickens meat and not allergy to it. I don't the chance any more trying to avoid it as much & often or not at all, after discovered that I was/is allergy to chicken meats would/will get flu and runny nose non-stop.
Yong Tau Foo is Hakka food, Ghib. Everything you tried looked so good!
Singapore selling Nasi lemak since in the 50s a pack only 10 cents
I disagree with the waiting so long, you need to see the situation and the location, if you're in the office area and you had to wait 15 to 20min while other people also waiting to find a seat, its not convenient and also your co-worker also feeling awkward waiting for you while people are watching.
Went to try ToaPayoh Lorong 6 outlet. Slow service which MUST improve.
They registered me as member. Mineral water is $1.5 else will be 1.70. 1.5 is same as other coffee shops. A nicer gesture will be 1.40.
