I’m Shocked at How Fast These Sell

3 small woodworking projects that are easy to build, inexpensive to make, and designed around products people actually buy and display. In this video, I’m building a hat display, a vinyl record holder, and a simple cedar glasses holder — all beginner-friendly woodworking projects with great selling potential.

The craziest one might be the glasses holder. I made it from a standard 6-foot cedar fence picket, and because each one is only about 10 inches long, I can get roughly 35 glasses holders from a single picket. At just $10 each, that’s up to $350 worth of product from one inexpensive piece of cedar. Similar handmade glasses holders are selling for even more online.

The other two projects are made from pine: a simple hat holder/display and a vinyl record display shelf. All three are small woodworking projects that don’t require a lot of lumber, complicated joinery, or expensive materials, which makes them great ideas for anyone selling woodworking projects on Etsy, at craft fairs, Facebook Marketplace, or through a small woodworking business.

If you’re looking for woodworking projects that sell, easy woodworking projects for beginners, profitable woodworking ideas, small wood projects, Etsy woodworking ideas, craft fair projects, woodworking side hustle ideas, fence picket projects, scrap wood projects, hat displays, record holders, or glasses holders, hopefully this video gives you a few ideas you can put to work in your own shop.

Let me know in the comments which of the three you would build — and which one you think would sell the fastest.

Now let’s get to building.

  1. I enjoyed this video. Was entertaining, informative and the occasional flatulent noises added a new angle to the wood working experience! Cheers from Norway.

  2. Your hat stand isn't likely to sell in the UK because we really don't bother with hats. Maybe a baseball hat, but they are just thrown over a coat hooks or dumped on a table. Glasses holder, may sell. The simple picture prop would likely sell.

  3. You can rip the horizontal boards about enough for 3 or 4 whatever sozed dows to be glued into the smaller side if the ripped peice of shelf, then perfectly match up the other side abs drill holes fornthe dows to slide onto, pit small lock screws on bottom chamfered for taking off again

  4. Quick tip. Most drills have a bit lock, tighten your bit then turn back until you hear 1 click, now its locked and your bit wont keep falling out. Like i say, MOST drillshave this function, not ALL.

  5. You showed how to cut the circle with the guide bit. Great. We all can do that. How do you cut a perfect circle if you don't have the guide bit? You need to cut the perfect circle to make a guide. If i don't have a guide bit i am back to bouncing around to make a jig.

  6. Ya your( fart )got you a thumbs down .Your not the only one watching your videos. Sometimes children with some education like some of them yander shows .With all respect don't act like an idiot Boludo

  7. I love the channel brother, very informative and just fun.
My channel was just for fun, but Now I'm finally starting to get Motivated and I'm having Fun!!! 😁⚒️💚

  8. It was Grandma Vivienne for me: partly because she could have stepped straight out of "The Devil Wears Prada"; but, my Great Aunt Belle-Belle was exactly like her. Great, but not to be messed with!

  9. Jasco; you are an absolute hoot to watch, and I think a pretty fine woodworker too if you didn't have to fart around with all the camera and audio takes and editing. I can always fined good ideas and some good laughs watching your videos. Keep rolling the cameras! 🤗😅 🤣

  10. I have seen most of your videos and they are awesome. I love the mistakes you make and you're right about this is how you learn.
I wonder if you can make a vibrating table that is 12"x9" working area. Hopefully not too expensive.

  11. I love your style! Do you hsve a video that recommends what tools to accuire maybe on a must haves, next up, and dream tools order? I'm not sure what to go for. If i had a shopping list I could pick them up as they show up at Lidl.

  12. it's a lot easier than that to find center. Any 90° triangle imposed inside the circle has a hypotenuse that IS a diametric line. Lay your square down, put the 90° outside corner on the circumference, draw lines down the legs, and connect the ends. One step instead of two [roughtly the 5:30 – 6:00 minute portion of the video.]

  13. Nice projects…..but……you sure could save a lot of dinking around with hole saws and jigs if you got yourself a small CNC machine! Most could be programed for one pass with just a few bit changes. Lordy!
