Chinese military aviation activity over Pakistan has come under the scanner of Indian intelligence agencies after a Chinese Y-20 aerial tanker was tracked refuelling two J-16 fighter jets over Karachi, according to sources. The activity comes after the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) participated in the “Eagles of Civilization 2026″ exercise in Egypt.
The movement has raised concerns in Indian security circles because it points to an evolving pattern of Chinese military aviation using Pakistani airspace and bases to support long-range operations and the return of aircraft from overseas deployments.
