J.H. Williams 3/4″ Drive Ratchet Teardown | H-51 | It’s a Beast!

In this video I tear down this massive vintage 3/4 inch drive ratchet made by J.H. Williams. It’s the H-51, a model that began production in the mid 1940’s from what I can find. Today the J.H. Williams brand is owned by Snap-On.

In the video I show the H-51 next to it’s smaller sibling the 1/2 inch drive S-51 for a sense of scale. Later I may post a similar teardown video of the more common S-51.

I hope this helps you if you have an old H-51 and want to tackle a teardown, cleaning, lube and reassembly.

Tools used in the video:
• Needle-nose pliers
• Large adjustable wrench
• Small slotted screwdriver
• Cordless Drill
• Wire wheels for the drill

Products used in the video:
• WD-40 Rust Release Penetrant Spray
• Super Lube Synthetic Grease.
• Super Lube Multi-use Synthetic oil.
• Scotch-Brite pads.
• Blue Shop Paper Towels.
