Those Lipo rechargeable lithium batteries are crazy scary, a family friend was charging a Dewalt screw gun and it started the fire that burned his new house down. The burn up trash trucks all the time because people don’t dispose of them correctly. Bigger the battery bigger the risk lol

Lithium is Alkali Metal and reacts with water to form LiOH ( lithium hydroxide ). This process is exothermic and generates hydrogen Gas . And heat generated during the reaction is enough to ignite that H2 gas so …. It looks like that
I used to do this but I would tear the strip up and put it in lighter fluid along with some other odds and ends and WOOOOHOOO it was some fire. I'm retired from this now and been clean 4 years….
