I think my friend here showed great restraint to not fully compliment this watch. This is some of the best finished casework dial construction bezel, bracelet, clasp that I have ever experienced. Everything is done to such a high crispy degree. The dial is gorgeous. The facets the indexes, the markers, the hands, everything is done to perfection. The clicks of the adjustable clasp are like these little spring-loaded gun actuations. It's just so pleasant to hear. The entire package, for$ 360 cannot be touched by any brand out there. This is a multi thousand dollar watch produced by a brand that somehow managed to charge under $400 for it. What a phenomenal product!!!

Mine arrived today. So far, so good. It looks fantastic. It actually looks better on the wrist, than the advertising photos. I was a little worried that the dial would be too bright and sparkly, and dominate, as it does in the advertising. But the reality is that the dial is really subtle, and I love that. You can see the dial effect, but it sits in the background, not the foreground. The male end links aren't an issue on my 6.75" wrist. The bracelet is great on the wrist, but doesn't articulate much, so you can't lay the watch flat on a surface. For a SM watch, it's not cheap, and the choice of ST2130 movement is questionable for long term usage. But the finishing on this watch is amazing, and you would really struggle to find similar under £1000. It blows Seiko out of the water on this, if you compare pricing – Seiko 5 for example.
If you are to do homage to Grand Seiko, go after the SLGB003 or the Lake Suwa version. Use Miyota 9k series to have that in a compact-cased dress watch.

This looks a lovely watch but I would miss the date complication – I've had Segull movements before and never had an issue but because a lack of date its a no no for me I'm afraid
$500??? It has a $25 movement in it. San Martin is losing its mind with these prices. You can get Swiss watches with Selita SW200-1 movements at these prices.
I'm the odd one out 😢 that hour hand is too short and the minute hand crossing over the centre just looks off.
Dear @ShinyThings I want to add a disclaimer: It's no wonder that your watch has the best finishes (even though SM gives a descent finishing) and is regulated to the second. They know who they're sending the watch and treat it properly. Do you ever wonder how the watch behaved if you were a secret shopper?!
Crystal is too reflective outside. Should have used a flat crystal and a thinner case. There are zero people who purchase these watches that actually need 300m WR.
