When I told my Mom that I didn't want to attend college graduation she said, "it's not about you." River Forest? It's not about you. It's about the millions of others who will benefit from this in the years ahead. Buck up.
Nimbys…
Love seeing you
They keep saying "high-speed train" but the average speed of the proposed train line is 80mph. That is not high-speed rail by any modern standard.
The proposal is Platform to Platform,, O'Hare to South Loop. Through River Forest – 80 mph every 7 1/2 minutes 18 hrs a day. The extra travel to destination is another 30 mins.
Private funded and it’s rail road and ohare it will happen .
These Karens choose to live in a metro with one of the best public transit systems in the US and complain about growth. These ideots need to move further west
People: "Why don't we have more/better public transit?" The same people: "I don't want that near me."
So these people are bothered by noise but they decided to move into a place next to train tracks and in the flight path of a lot of planes taking off from one of the busiest airports in the country? The amount of people that would actually be bothered by the train noise is tiny compared to the amount of people that would be using this train.
Of course! I knew this would happen. 🙄
If you don’t like trains Illinois is the wrong place for you especially Chicagoland
Too bad trains are part of life in Illinois
Dang, Melinda, we know what's in that Stanley mug & it ain't coffee. You GO girl!
what about the non wealthy neighborhoods it might FLY over? what do they think?
LOL.. is this the CA high sped train saga…all over again….
Clowns
“We don’t want it or need the train running through our town…” Well you live near a big city with other neighborhoods surrounding yours who DO need it and I guarantee you the complainers will use it too when heading to the airport. They probably won’t even hear the train given how fast it will go. All I’m hearing is a bunch of whiny “adults” with main character syndrome.
These homeowners bought homes near the tracks and just figured out that a train will pass by. These individuals are nothing but jerks they will say well no one told me about trains.
The comment thread on this topic PROVES that Chicago citizens are full of selfish A-HOLES! What a terrible city! I have lived in the north east, south, west coast in large cities and Chicago is a bastion of low mentality freaks followed by Philadelphia which is similar dirty dumps harboring enclaves of selfish people, not even the people of NewYork city are this horrible!
Who tf cares about their opinion
Tunnels, tunnels, tunnels. You’re just not going to be able to cheap it out.
That's a tough fight they're fighting. The tracks are already there.
This video failed to mention that the line will be elevated through River Forest, so the grade crossings now won't be there when this is running. OHare Flyer has their own video on YouTube answering a lot of questions.
laughing that the people with train tracks are mad there will a train on the tracks
