✨Hello everyone! After almost 3 years of hard work and many delays, I’m proud to finally present my new 16 minutes short film DCS: SKY INFERNO. “Keep your eyes peeled, boys!” Thank you so much to everyone who has supported this project since day one. Enjoy! Fly safe. Fly Metal. Greetings from France ++

🎬February 1944. Operation Argument is a sequence of raids led by United States Army Air Forces and RAF Bomber Command against Nazi Germany. The objective is to destroy aircraft factories in order to defeat the Luftwafffe before the Normandy landings, planned for June. On Tuesday 22, the 306th Bombardment Group is involved in the deepest penetration of the day into enemy territory. The target is a Junkers aircraft factory in Bernburg. As the journey to the objective unfolds without much trouble, the group becomes soon the last one left on the way back… This is a true story.

00:00:00 – Prologue
00:01:11 – 306th Bombardment Group
00:02:17 – IP
00:03:26 – Bomb Run
00:05:15 – “Bandits, bandits!”
00:06:24 – First attack
00:07:49 – Little friends
00:08:45 – Over Bonn & Cologne
00:09:52 – Second attack
00:11:08 – Hell breaks loose
00:13:26 – On the way home
00:14:22 – Epilogue
00:15:30 – Credits

🧐Disclaimer: In February 1944, the P-51B was still in use but DCS only provides the D variant, which only started operations later in March 1944. Same goes with BF-109s, FW-190s and also the B-17G which didn’t have either the “Cheyenne” tail turret, nor the waist gunners windows yet. “Haters gonna hate”, sorry it can’t be 100% as accurate but honestly, these are details that won’t affect the story, which remains the most important thing here 🙂

🙏In memory of Matt “Wags” Wagner and Lionel Guenoun.

  2. This was a superb short film. Intense, fast paced, and emotional. To think those guys had to endure this for hours on every mission, for 25 missions. Absolutely insane. And becauseb of their sacrifice, we live in a free world.

  3. What an amazing video!
The positioning of the anti-aircraft guns and the B-17 formation, as well as controlling the AI aircraft, must have been a truly nightmarish task.

  4. Everything here is an absolute masterpiece. Cinematography, storytelling, voice acting, historic accuracy.

But the sound mixing and music are out of this world. BRAVO!

  5. Really well done! One detail, though: this is not how the norden bombsight worked: the bombs wouldn’t release when the crosshairs hit the target. Instead, in search mode, the bombardier would place the crosshairs on the target and switch to track mode. The autopilot would then steer the plane laterally so it would match the target. Meanwhile the bombardier would adjust the tracking motor for the vertical movement so the crosshairs would stay on the target until the mechanical computer would release the bombs at the correct moment. In total the crosshairs would stay fixed on target for about a minute or so until bombs away.

  6. I was on the edge of my seat. FANTASTIC JOB! It didn't hit me till the 3rd watching, why the combat was so ominous, and tense.. that FRIGHTENING MUSIC! Just subtle enough in the background to not gain attention to itself, but add to the horror of dread, and impending doom..

  7. I’m not interested in what criminal American Army has done anywhere on the earth! Why you don’t want to depict their crime in bombing civilians and great massacre of German cities?

  8. Its probably not the right time to say this but after all the sacrifices made by allied air crew including the the help provided by the Americans, i cant help thinking about events unfolding in a country that many of its citizens came from that died fighting against fascism 😢
