For the final episode of Season 2 of That’s What She Said with Naziba Basher, we turn to a generation that was told to wait its turn — and chose not to.
Joining us is Nusrat Tabassum, political activist and one of the most visible female faces of the July uprising. Now a leader of the student-led National Citizen Party and the youngest woman in Bangladesh’s history to enter parliament through a reserved seat, her journey has taken her from movements on the streets to the heart of an institution those movements sought to change.
What happens when a generation shaped by protest steps into national politics? Can the urgency of the streets survive the negotiations and compromises of parliament? And for young women entering political spaces still shaped by age, gender, money and muscle, what does it take not only to get through the door, but to hold on to their voice once inside?
