I've never been a fan of calling The Terminator the T800. In 1984, it wasn't a line item in a product catalog; it was just a terrifying, singular cybernetic organism. The obsession with retroactively labeling everything with strict, video-game-style tech specs definitely started bleeding backward into the original masterpiece after the later sequels and expanded universe took over.
