Here they are, the highly experienced Airlink pilots who pulled off one of the most talked-about flyovers in rugby history.
On Saturday 29 August 2026, two Airlink Embraer jets (one in Springbok green, one in All Blacks black) roared just metres above DHL Stadium in Cape Town moments before kick-off of the Springboks vs All Blacks Test.
Flight data showed the lead aircraft clearing the stadium roof by only around 12–14 metres, sending the 55,000+ crowd into a frenzy and the internet into meltdown. This is exclusive footage of the pilots who made it happen.
What do you think of the flyover? Safe and spectacular… or too close for comfort? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
