  1. While Canada’s breaking its dependence on the U.S. is a positive move in itself, take into account that difficulties are not with the U.S. per se, but are with Donald Trump ans his acolytes, who will be gone in about 2 years. No similar character is on the horizon to carry on the practices that cause us all so much upset.

  2. Mother's uncle was ordered to stay on ship due to 105 fever with strep throat. This provably saved his life from the carnage at Normandy. He did say the US ship he had been some very rough seas. Many had been vomiting. Interesting on D-day all those in Union station in DC knelt down to pray.

  3. All those men died to supposedly save Europe. A Europe handed over to the 3rd world where White men go to prison for speaking out against the invaders who rape White women and children. They run over White Europeans with cars. "You will own nothing and you will be happy"

  4. Is this more important to teach in schools than gender confusion? My grown kids never heard of McArthur or Eisenhower till I asked. I assumed Md. Schools still taught history in the 2000s? Nope. Black history. Yep. Jefferson or Madison nope. Harriet Tubman yes, George Patton no. Lizzo good, Trump bad. We're done folks.

  5. In 1954, under Eisenhower, the CIA overthrew Guatemala’s elected president Jacobo Árbenz for standing up to United Fruit and pushing land reform. What followed was decades of military rule, massacres, and over 100,000 civilians killed. Eisenhower’s coup destroyed democracy in Guatemala and unleashed one of Latin America’s bloodiest conflicts.

  6. ""The incredible story of when the D-Day landings came to hinge on readings taken by a 21 year-old girl""… Is it me or does anyone else find that insulting. I mean is it really incredible a 21 year old "" girl"" Could do anything of consequence? Is it me or does anyone else find that a little bit insulting and sexist and I'm a 70 year old man

  7. Good story! I wish the uncles, baseball coaches, teachers and neighbors i knew all participants in this historical event. The stories they told me about it werecsome of the most unbelievable thing to hear but kbew by their demeanor it was true!!

  8. The 3 week delay if the weather didn’t improve which would be necessitated by the next full moon would have placed my dad onto the beach, instead of disembarking into liberated Normandy as a casualty replacement.
