10:17 this has nothing to do with the rest of the video, but i happen to know how a homophobe could have written something as gay as death note: sexism
because the author has such a low opinion of women, the female characters aren't properly fleshed out, nor are the male characters' relationships with any of them properly defined either. in death note's case this only leaves the mutual obsession between L and kira, which despite not even being a bromance, takes up so much of the story that it's by default the most compelling romance in the whole story.
this also applies to any other story that feels like yaoi bait despite being written by a bigot.
