Trump says "Canada is “costing America $62 billion a year.” or "We are supporting Canada Canada and that has to stop" it's a lie.
That $62 billion is NOT money Canada took from America. It is a TRADE DEFICIT from 2024.
What is a trade deficit? It simply means Americans bought more goods from Canada than Canadians bought from America.
Canada didn't “rob” America of $62 billion. America bought $62 billion dollars more in Canadian products than Canada bought from the US.
And Trump's $62 billion figure is from 2024. In 2025, the U.S. goods trade deficit with Canada was $48.3 billion.
A trade deficit is not the same thing as losing money.
The US has never lost 62 billion dollars from Canada and has never financially supported Canada.

Guns N' Roses dude! He makes all the good points. Recently, someone hit my car at high speed on highway and sent me spinning. Went to hospital to get checked and came out with a $16K bill.
