Welcome to the heavy spoilers show, i’m your host Paul and this video we’re breaking down the X-files.
–
After the phenomenal success of Season 2, The X-files was making waves through the mainstream. The truth was out there in a big big way with us really entering the shows golden age. You see kids back then we didnt have like 50 different tv shows a week across a multitude of servies, there was no youtube and content was just…just a bit more bear. So a cliffhanger like season two managed to sustain the conversation and people were eager to learn what happened to Mulder.
Airing on September 22nd 1995 the season ran to May 17th of 1996. Containing 24 episodes they really perfected the mythology stuff here alongside the monster of the week stuff which was always attracting new viewers. The seasons really hit its stride when it came to staff writers as well. Vince Gilligan was now fully on board and newcomer Darin Morgan wrote some of the best dark comedies in the entire shows run. We also had the introduction of the black oil alien virus which would come to be a big plot device going forward.

If it wasn't for the x files Vince Gilligan would not have a career in tv

23:56 😂What? No…the Chupacarba sucks blood. Ive NEVER heard it claimed it sucks fat. It is a livestock killer with a specialty for goats. Most claims state it has three fangs to piece the skin and the animals are found with this triangle mark and their bodies intact but drained of blood completely.
This closest thing is Mr. Peppy the bone vampire from Futurama. It is clearly inspired by the Chupacabra. The native planet of the bone vampire os inhabited hy Scotsmen (maybe a Monty Python homage?) where it has been hunted to extinction long ago to protect thier sheep. The crew reintroduce Mr. Peppy who is believed to be a vegetarian. At the end of rhe day it is revealed he is partially the cause of killing the sheep but this is not a bad thing. The human residents cant keep up with slaughtering the overpopulation so Mr. Peppy is actually a godsend. He ONLY watch the bones by somehow sucking a non-liquid (part of how fat doesn't work) from their bodies. This leaves muscle and pelt perfectly in tact for easy commercial processing. A foreshadowing and follow up come in the bookends. They get Mr. Peppy's egg while going to a farmers market after a bad fast food experience. Leela hates the ambiguity and artifical ingredients of the food choices so she orders a fruit cup which she finds is actually spelled "froot." The final straw is finding a bone in her froot. The epiaode ends with them returning to Fishy Joe's where mutton now dominates the menu. She states that at least when they get gross, unhealthy food now, they will know where it comes from..and inferedly that they dont have to worry about bones.
Why the dress mate? Dress up as a guy superhero don't be weird ❤
4:32 the german version of this scene when only listening is definetly something else…..
even gilian anderson said she envied her german voice over for the seductive sound of the voice.
Skully and the smoking man sound ridiculous in their original voice to me.
1:06:02 that's not actress Carmen ejogo😂.
Mind quad
Being attacked by 20 cats is definitely scary. Their bites can be highly infectious, especially if it hits bone. We're talking full blown sepsis.
I loveeee these, thank you.
8:57 “car in the car blinking” gotta reshoot the whole thing now
"Wait, what about the third one?" "Who, Lord Kinboat?" proceeds to be taken away with no further comment. Also, TON of Twin Peak references in that episode, lmao.
30:46 – erm, actually – 12 of the Japanese scientists were prosecuted by the Soviets and given labor camp sentences. Pretty easy thing to fact check there.
Does he cover every episode?
The Revaluations episode does have one of my favorite character lines when Skully is asking how come Mullder can find it so easy to believe in the unknown, but he won't believe in an act of God?
Skully's immortality is actually brought up, as well as the 2nd dog after this one, in one of the 1st episode of the rebbot seasons. Mullder says he was worried she'd be killed, to which Skully just says "Oh I can't die"
Jesus u speed through these episodes I was interested in your take on my favourite episodes in each season and thought these would be very long videos. Still good though
Operation Paperclip was never taught at any point when I went through school.
When is 4th season coming to the poor people Paul..? ❤
Fab work as always! Not sure if it was noted here, the escort in Avatar is Amanda Tapping from the Stargate series! Love her!
It's funny to see you laugh off the cockroach episode, that scared the shit out of me as a kid. Crawling under the skin, still gives me the willies.
Listen on .9 speed and thank me later
Off the coast of the Monterey Bay, CA there’s a sea monster story, it was a tale you grew up hearing if you had family in fishing here. Didn’t have a cool-scary name, he was simply called “The Old man of Monterey Bay”, It apparently had massive eyes like grapefruits, but had the face of an old man w/ a sharp brow and had fangs-looks like a long serpent w/ reddish fins and tail and the body had a silver/ black oil look to it. He would turn up from the Monterey Trench during fishing season.
Love that you're breaking all there down, there so much that I've forgotten! Another banger video!
31:31 bro!!! The south Afrikaans lol😂😂😂😂 @heavyspoilers
As I was watching this, I realized how much effort it must take to do these breakdowns. It's very impressive.

Young Jack Black looks like Nova. 😮
58:22 – me too bro, me too

58:10 my absolute favorite X-Files episode omg
Can you stop putting x files videos out so fast please 😆 I watched your season 1 video and loved it so now im watching season one 😆
About the lake monster episode, while Nessy is the grandaddy of all reptilian-looking lake cryptids, America and Canada have their fair share with notably the monster of Lake Champlin. A blink and you'll miss it reference is the name of the lake in this episode, "lake Heuvelmans", a wink at the father of Cryptozoology, the French-Belgian Bernard Heuvelmans. In spite of his passion and dedication, Heuvelmans was sadly a very bad scientist, bending facts to fit his views.
Quagmire is a great episode
Skinner’s wife is Vash from TNG. Never noticed that before
The well manicured man is Baron Munchaussen in Terry Gilliam’s film.
Thanks for doing these season breakdowns for the X-Files and please keep doing them. I haven’t watched the show much lately, but these videos remind me why I loved the show so much back in the 90s. 👽
Nothing to CHARGE him with… come on man how could you miss that.
Somebody with electrical powers and the Police couldn't charge him . 😂😂
Keep going .. you rock
"I didn't spend all those years playing Dungeons & Dragons and not learn a little something about courage." My favorite episode.
I used to reference 'cornflour blue' from fight Club…….. It must be Tuesday😅
Hey Paul, thanks so much for doing this! It’s such a huge coincidence because before you posted the breakdown of season one I had already started watching season one X-Files in preparation for Ryan Coogler’s upcoming continuation of the series X-Files was always my favorite show but I haven’t went back and watched the complete series in a very long time. Keep up the good work!
